A couple of issues with the lot bin.
Make sure you actually have the register, because it doesn't always download with the shop.

game objects to any mods, crashes while loading-Steam
Short version: I'm back in business. Less short version: I'm actually only almost back in business because there's still some mod or other that crashes the game, but that's trivial, I've done this before and I can do it again. I have most of the stuff back, and I got to play tonight. Longer version:...

My attempt to boot into safe mode took me to the same sign in page. I know what sage mode looks like, and I've used it multiple times, and this is not it. I'm taking the machine in to my friends at the electronics place today. I think there's deep shenanigans going on besides my mistakes. For exampl...

Update: I think I can screw anything up now. Made a local user account, no email. In the password creation screen ran into the problem that they wanted me to choose three security questions from a list of six, only one of which I could provide an answer to that I could have a hope in hell of ever re...

I will test. I just want to interject here that the ...

I got this response: The file (or folder): "C:\Users\ritax\Documents" now owned by user "DESKTOP-N5UP9O0\ritax". PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Which looks like it worked, but, loading the game did not result in any different behavior. Later on, I will set up a new account, carefully, and try that. Clearly...

Steam says that it's not their fault, they're tired of me and have closed my ticket. Anyway, I'm uninstalling and reinstalling now. For some reason the reinstall takers six hours, which makes me so weary. Edit: also I am disproportionately annoyed that Steam logs me as "playing" Sims for almost twel...

It took a couple of tries but I got the reg keys to stick. I redownloaded Sims 3 in the midst of that and it's still creating a new folder in Public Documents, but I'm going to try redownloading it again, though my theory is that the Steam downloader is trying to make a folder in OneDrive when it do...

Apparently I did successfully rename the regkeys away from OneDrive, and I deleted the extra user accounts, but the game is still trying tto read from Public Documents, which I think may be Steam's fault.
