@MoMoll - you can use Delphy's Sims 3 Pack Multi-Extracter to convert simspack files into packages and drop them in your Mods folder. The only files you can't do this with is lots and worlds, I believe. And if you have automatic updates turned off in the launcher, that should be okay too?
