Is it possible for 2 sims to have uncle-nephew connection without the father sim excisting? The plot kinda goes that father isnt there at all, but uncle and nephew are family.

Apparently mermaids are incapable of showering or bathing on their own to replenish their hydration, and would rather lay on the floor and wait till another sim helps them instead of showering themselves.
