Well this is interesting. I switched to windowed mode so I could watch Task Manager as it saved. It was around 2.1-2.3GB the whole time and saved just fine. So I went back to full-screen mode and played another hour, then tried to save. It crashed. I didn't try again yet in windowed mode.
