It will give me error 12, but if I quit my game and restart and play as normally I can save. My game runs at 2700+ ram so it can’t be running out of memory.
I am so scared, right now.
I can’t save after I perform a reset everything function.

When you're running the MasterController reset, does memory use spike significantly? Even a brief moment above the ~3.7 GB RAM limit would be a problem. If you're not seeing real-time RAM use as you run the reset, you can put the game in windowed mode, reduce the resolution, and bring up the Task Manager or whatever you're looking at next to or below the game window, so you can watch what happens as MC does its work.
This isn't necessarily a reason to be scared, although it does sound like this save is overdue for an MC reset. There are plenty of steps you can take to try to make this work. For example, you could exclude your household's lot from the reset command (click on City Hall and select NRaas > MC > Settings > Include Active Lot in Reset Everything > False), then run a reset only on that lot separately, perhaps after quitting and reloading. If one of the resets works but the other leads to an Error 12, that also narrows down the source of the problem.
You can also try temporarily lowering the graphics settings before you run the reset, then raising them again once it's worked and you've saved. Reducing the in-game resolution should help, and you can do that and switch between fullscreen and windowed modes while you have a save loaded. For the other graphics settings, change them at the Main Menu and then quit to desktop before loading a save, or you might see some unnerving graphics glitches.

There was no spike and that’s the problem. I will try it your suggestions. Will export backpuzzlezaddict wrote: ↑February 7th, 2021, 12:44 amWhen you're running the MasterController reset, does memory use spike significantly? So does that mean if you run an MC town reset while excluding the active lot, you still get an Error 12 when trying to save? And if you reset the active lot only, you also get an Error 12? And doing so with the game running on minimum graphics doesn't make a difference?
Out of curiosity, how large is the save folder? What mods do you currently have installed? How much RAM does your computer have, and how much is free while you're playing? It's possible to get an Error 12 when the computer is low on memory, even if the game isn't close to its theoretical limit.

i have merged my mods so less than 2 G
24 GB Ram
I have had the same save file for 3 years. Single generation though, and no aging.

I'm going to step in here if I may just to ask if Overwatch and ErrorTrap are in play or could now be? I feel like there may some cleanup that needs to be done so that perhaps the MC Resets may be able to complete without the danger of apparent resource overrun (even if the resource is not RAM) then leading to an Error 12.

Without running a Reset Everything, can you MC Reset any of the lots in this world/ongoing game without bad things happening?

I have tried some of the individual lots randomly and I could save. Which was weird, I am going back and try to load a backup save from last year and see if I could reset everything and still save.igazor post_id=80238 time= wrote: Without running a Reset Everything, can you MC Reset any of the lots in this world/ongoing game without bad things happening?
it wasn’t a problem back then. I distinctly remembered I reset the game several times last month and all was well
Edit: I went back to a save in January and I could save normally. I don’t know what ruined my recent game. This is so frustrating.
