I’m playing in Lucky Palms. I’ve noticed that Sims are standing around outside their places of work, eg Taj Diwan is standing outside the police station. This doesn’t apply to the family I’m playing - the mother works Friday-Sunday (Chef de Cuisine) and the father recently got a new job after a period of unemployment. The teens in the family didn’t go to school (it’s currently a Tuesday in-game) and I bulldozed the school and replaced it.
One of my Sims had returned from the future on the Sunday evening, which I’m mentioning because I know travelling can cause glitches sometimes.
Am I going to have to replace every single career building or something? I’m sure that’s going to create a few issues with everyone having to get new jobs.

The usual procedure to follow when sims lose alignment with their jobs/school, especially after gameplay has shifted from one world to another, is to run DebugEnabler's Fix Homeworld command from City Hall. I believe the worst thing it can do is report that there is nothing to fix, but at best it realigns homeworld job/school assignments so that this stops happening.
