Resetting all of Bridgeport

Post by Najmaa45 » August 13th, 2020, 6:17 pm

Hello, I was wondering if I could get help on how long it takes to reset a whole town. I used Master Controller, seven hours ago to reset all of Brigeport, as it could make my game less laggy. But my game is still processing so I'm unsure on what to do next. Does it normally take this long?

No, this is not a normal behaviour.
May I ask you in advance
- what kind of PC do you have?
Size of RAM, Graficcard

Do you play a fixed version of Bridgeport?

If you don't wanna wait for other answers, try
- quit your game, via windows performance monitor, if you can't quit the normal way
then go to document sims3 folder
- delete all files in the folder current...
- delete all cache package files

Start your game again, and only reset one or two lots via MC this shouldn't last long. Then reset others,

Resetting all of Bridgeport

Hi, thanks for responding quickly to me, a few minutes after i submitted this post, my sims game closed by itself. I am not exactly sure what PC i have but i have Intel Core i3-5010U and 4.00 GB Ram. I normally delete my cache packages when i open a new game. I do not play the fixed version of Bridgeport.

Resetting all of Bridgeport

Hi there. Without seeing the rest of the specs on this system I'm afraid we have to focus on the 4 GB of RAM total and its under-powered processor. You theoretically have enough RAM to play TS3 to some extent since the game itself can't use more than just under 4 GB anyway but on modern operating systems (especially but not limited to Win 10) what happens is that the system runs out of total memory far too quickly and the game crashes, gets stuck, Error 12s, or reaches for virtual memory (paging) which makes the game processes unstable. That last one is likely what is happening here. And it will be worse, or rather more likely to happen, if you do not have a dedicated graphics card as integrated graphics use up RAM and processor power to get their tasks done rather than carrying their own load.

Running an MC Reset Everything is pretty intrusive and is definitely going to spike the game's RAM usage up and down while it's running, which for most of us should take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes but not really longer than that. Maybe 20 minutes on a very large world running on a borderline or under-powered system. If adding more RAM to this system is not viable right now, although it should probably be considered, you might want to try again with a fresh startup of the game except with all graphics Game Options turned down to their bare ugly minimum temporarily and Advanced Rendering off to reduce stress and calls for more RAM. Also be sure to have the interactive hidden object game at startup switched off as well as the scrapbook memory system, the in-game TS3 store shopping experience, not be logged in at either the Launcher or the in-game levels, and anything else you can think of to do to reduce stress.

If you end up the same place, you may have to conclude that you just don't have enough system memory and a strong enough processor to run this kind of reset.
