I want to sim to die of old age because he's lived too long. The 'Force kill' option just deletes them from my household and puts them in a mausoleum and my other sims don't even know that he's gone. Is there a way to kill the sim so that the grim reaper comes and I get an urn and everyone gets sad?

filter active household or if activated "active sim"

This let's him die normally and immediately

of course only if the sim is an Elder sim.
It doesn't matter how far he is in it, because a "next age stage" doesn't exist.

You could also run this on multiple sims.
Then Filter By Age - Elder
