Deleting inventory without nraas debugenabler?

Post by Simphobic » August 31st, 2023, 1:02 pm

So my sim has a corrupted phone or inventory it seems where she has no interactions available. Resetting the sim with mc unlocks the options again until next reload of the game. I saw some posts talking about a similar issue and got confirmed that ”deleting inventory” with debugenabler and then resetting the sim with mc fixed the issue when this bug occurs.

However, I dont have nraas debugenabler installed and figured perhaps this is possible to do with MC + cheats module which I already have. I try not to clog my game with mods and interaction bubbles to stray too far away from vanilla experience. Would for example under object stats and flushing lets say the phone create the same effect as deleting your inventory (given your inventory is empty)?

They don't do the same things exactly and I'm not sure deleting (flushing) the phone itself is going to do anything other than further corrupt the sim . What about installing DE just to get through whatever this issue is and then removing it if you don't want to keep it in play?

As a mod to have around though, DE is very handy and doesn't add any real overhead to the game. It's mostly just an interface into cheat commands that EA's developers left it the game with no other way to access. Its added Fix Invisible Sims command plus one or two others make it well worth the §0 purchase price. :)

Did you install Selector as recommended in your other thread to confirm what the issue is?

I didn’t have the time yet to try anything when asking this question tbh. Just wanted to see what my options were so I could try it step by step.

Wanted to try to see if just MC could solve it before I started added mods to the issue, but would do that if it didn’t work.

I just tried the MC only solution and seems like it solved the issue? At least the phone works again.

For anyone finding this post who experience the same bug. This is what I did:

1. MC > sim > household > object stats > select the active sim > inactive (maybe choose the sim category for this but inactive opened the option for flushing the phone for me).

2. Choose the smartphone and accept to flush it. (It will delete the phone essentially).
3. Reset sim with MC 1 time, it will revert the phone to a blackberry (pre uni)
4. Reset sim with MC a 2nd time, it will regenerate the smartphone.

(Of course save before. Unfortunately, no idea what causes this phone corruption. I’ve personally experienced it once in my life before but just ended up suffering with it since that sim was getting old and I was about to move on with the kid who had grown up).

I never got to trying non-mod solution though in the form of buying the ”future sim” reward which gives your sim a new phone. Its possible that it will regenerate the phone somehow, but it will cost you some lifetime reward points but sounds worth to me :P.

I wanted to try the MC only solution first but would consider adding more mods if it didn’t solve it. I did reply to chain with why I manage to try which seems to have solved it I believe.

However, I do have a if you have the answer to it?

I tried to look at the documentation but couldn’t see whether there is an option to hide the menu? I’ve personally hidden all my NRaas Menus except for the things that can’t hidden like NRaas Register menu on role sims items and MC on shell buildings.

Yeah, honestly the work everyone does on this site is incredible and has saved the game and all of it is free. Without Overwatch, errortrap, MC and register (if you have pets expansion) specifically this game would be unplayable. Bless all of yall.

ErrorTrap has an optional tuning file that hides the overall NRaas menu entirely unless testingcheatsenabled is engaged. Might this be more of what you are looking for or does that not quite do it?

You can also use with MC -Household
MasterController-Interactions#Sell-ItemSell Item
  • Prompts the user to sell objects in the given lot's family inventory
  • Proceeds of the sale go to the family living on the lot
Don't mark your own household in the list.
AND if you do a town reset - all inactive sims personel inventory is being moved automatically to their family inventory (and cannot be used anymore).

After this you can substract the added money from all households you want
- mark the families in the list and use minus - to substract amount of money
MasterController-Interactions#Family-Funds

A Sort inventory can also be helpful if something goes buggy (also under household)
