Direct a Sim without selecting them etc

Post by Annabeth777 » March 6th, 2023, 4:06 am

Hi everybody, I'm playing the Doomsday Challenge II: Isolation (on MTS) and want to use MC or other nraas mods for challenge purposes. I have MC, Overwatch, Debug Enabler, ErrorTrap.

The challenge is to figure out the traits of the "patients" without clicking on the traits panel.
So I'm going to set High Free Will for all Sims and disable autonomy for the doctor. Only the doctor is under my control.
1. But I want to direct the patients to do some actions e.g. Relax on Bed without selecting them and making them the active sim because I will get to know about the traits of the sim through the action.
e.g If the Sim is evil, when I click on the bed one of the options will be "Evil slumber" and I'll know that the Sim is evil right away. I don't want that.
2. I also want a way to disable those "trait notifications" where they say "X Sim is Excitable! Hover over the traits panel to know more." If not those notifications specifically I want to disable all notifications.

How do I do this?

I've read through as many help pages as I could to see if it's listed somewhere and gone through the MC interactions. I might have missed something tho. I hope this wasn't too detailed or too vague. Help me out, thanks!

I don't think that is possible, you cannot direct non actives to do it
BUT you can use Knights Sim Control mod to adjust the energy value, set it to -75 and the sim will go to bed 99%.

You can also use this mod the see the traits via Sim info or use Mastercontroller -> Status -> Personal

Can it be that you have the in-game notifications on? tips, you can check in your game settings.

You can also use Debugenabler on a sim to "Learn the traits", if I remember right.

Actually, I'm trying to decrease the number of ways I can see a Sims traits. So I don't want the game to show through notifications or the action interface. I want to determine the traits simply by observing the Sims animations and behaviour.

Is there a detailed guide on turning off in-game notifications? I have it turned off in Options>Memories>Disable notifications but that only disables Memory notifications I think. I want to remove all notifications.

I don't have Story Progression so I can't do it that way. Is there any other way you know of?

hm, I don't know maybe its from the lessons? have you enabled that?

Or do you have whoohooer? NRaas > Woohooer > General > Debugging > (should be False)

Or as igazor noted in another post, try Shimrod101's Romance Visibility and Attraction Disabler mod.

I can't help with 1, but for 2, you could set the number of actions required to trigger the notifications to some very high number you'll never reach. Using zero or -1 might also work, but I'm not sure; perhaps it would be helpful to experiment in a new save. The values are reachable through Retuner:

NRaas > Retuner > Settings > General > By Tunable XML > Sims3.GamePlay.ActorSystems > TraitTipsManager > [whatever triggers a tip] > [some high number]
