Hi everyone!

I know the title of this post comes as no surprise but even with the existing problems this one I’m experiencing is new to me and I can’t find anything about it in other forums.

So one of my child sims got an imaginary friend and everything was going smoothly until one day when she was a child the IF bugged out and disappeared (I think when the child left the house the IF bugged out). The IF doll was still on the ground and I just put it into my sims inventory thinking “ah sure, at least I don’t have to deal with that anymore.” Pretty sure there was an ErrorTrap message about the IF getting stuck but that was all.

This said sim is now a teen and I have tried placing the doll out to age the IF up but the game bugs out and doesn’t let me place the doll. A few days later I placed the doll but it had a different name. Then my sim’s inventory stopped working. So after placing the doll I can’t click on anything in the sim’s inventory. I tried to fix it by maybe putting the doll in the family inventory in buy mode but it just broke that inventory system too

I reloaded the save to before I took the doll out of my sim’s inventory and don’t dare try anything else! I can easily just have my sim carry around the doll for the rest of her life without interacting with it or perhaps there’s a fix for this?

I have tried resetting the teen sim and the IF via cheat commands and master controller but it didn’t seem to work. I even reset everything in the town but the doll is still janky… any ideas? Thanks guys

If you won't mind you can annihilate the IF entirely with Mastercontroller (and maybe also all others around your town)

I placed the IF doll on the ground, deleted it, annihilated the IF sim via MC and let the game run for a few seconds. My sim’s inventory was still bugged out so I made a separate save, restarted my game and thankfully everything is back to normal!
