Sims 3 just closes when its on the loading screen after I deleted caches for a mod and I have no idea what went wrong

Hello,

I have a real issue with my game and I have no idea what to do with it now and hopefully you
guys can maybe help. I have been playing for a while and I am afraid that I
might have completely corrupted my game including my save files.

I wanted to install mastercontroller for my game and I tried to follow all
the steps that were given to in
How-To-Install I made a separate folder for
the mods, within the package and overrides files. I already put in the
Resource.cfg file in the mods folder.

After I installed the mod I put the files into a separate map and extracted
the files from it and I have put the package file of the mastercontroller
mod into the packages folder and I thought that was it. There was also
''NRaas_MasterController_V134'' but I didn't know in which map I would have
to put in which is a stupid mistake of mine.

I thought I had to delete the caches and I deleted every single one which
were on the list of the link I used to install the mod. These were:

CASPartCache.package
compositorCache.package
scriptCache.package
simCompositorCache.package
socialCache.package

After I deleted them my launcher would still show up however my game just
closes down by itself while its on the loading screen, with no error
message. I don't know what I did wrong as I am a beginner in installing
mods and I just hope that there might be still hope for my save files. If I
have to give any more information like pictures and such I will gladly do
so. I just hope there is a way to fix this.

Thanks to the developers for making these mods possible in the first place, I believe it
should offer a much better experience (not that the actual game itself is
bad though).

Thanks in advance and have a nice day :)

Hi there.

1 - What kind of game install is this (Origin, Steam, retail disc, something else) and what patch level is it on? The patch level should display either front and center on the Launcher or in some cases by hovering the mouse over the base game icon (not the expansions) at the bottom of its screen.

2 - Is the file called "NRaas_MasterController.package" now the only file within the Mods\Packages subfolder? It may show up as just "NRaas_MasterController" if you have your operating system set to not display file extensions, but that doesn't matter as it would be the same file. Might you also have included the MC Progression optional add-on, which you should not have if MC is your only mod thus far?

The file with the v134 in the name is the zipped file container. The actual mod file is inside of that. The zip file can be stored elsewhere if you like or discarded after you get the package file (the mod itself) out of it.

Hey thanks for replying :)

I actually pirated the game (which is not good I am aware of that) and perhaps that is the reason it went wrong
The version I have however is 18.0.126.021001 atleast thats what it says on my launcher, sorry I have no experience with modding :(

I have a file in my package folder which is called ''NRaas_MasterController'' and It is the only file in the folder. I don't have the add-on I think. The mod I installed (MasterController) is my first mod and I assume the add on is another mod you can download. If I want to get this mod to work I probably have to update the game and just put the v134 file into the package file (so the v134 and NRaas_MasterController are in one file) and then delete the caches again?

Another thing I did was that I downloaded the Resource package and extracted the actual file (Resource.cfg) into the mods folder. I still have the ZIP file called Resource. I think something went wrong and that might play a role. I assume it would be really simple as the guide said that I have to unpack the resource package and then put the resource file itself into the mod folder.

Thanks a lot for the reply and if I have to give any pictures for more clarity I would like to do that :)
Have a nice day

You are doing almost everything correctly, other than misidentifying the patch level (that's not the correct number to find) except for one important little detail. You have pirated the game. Most illegitimate versions of the game are very resistant to being modded or just cannot be.

Thanks for that information, but I am afraid this thread is now locked and your site membership is revoked. Bringing pirated games to us for support is in violation of our rules here.
