Deinstalling relativity
Deinstalling relativity
I'm trying to delete relativity but whenever I restart my game after deleting it it keeps giving me a message about a speed change from relativity, I've tried deleting scriptcache too, but this doesn't help. How do I permanently delete it?

In the TS3 user game folder where your Mods, other added content, and game saves are there will be a file called DeviceConfig.log. Depending on your operating system prefs, it may show up as just DeviceConfig. With a right-click > Properties, check the Modification Date/Time of this file. It should exactly match the last time you started up the game. If you aren't sure, close all windows, start up the game, and check again as this file will update its Modification Date/Time immediately.
If it's stale, then you have another TS3 user game folder on your system someplace else that the game is reading from and it still has the mod present. A common place for game folders to be hiding on Win 10/11 installs is within OneDrive, which is not where they are supposed to be.
If that's not it, really the only other possibility is that you have another instance of Relativity somewhere in your current game folder, possibly within merged content (if you have merged content present).

Thanks for the response.
Neither of those were the case, but somehow it just fixed itself (by the way, it wasn't the full mod that kept showing up, only that time speed change message and something that seemed like a debug pie menu, not the normal one). I deleted all cache files from the sims 3 folder that I could find, opened the game without any mods installed and after that it seems to be fixed.

It actually returned when I put all my mods back in, because apparently I had to update tiny UI fix because it was set to account for relativity. If anyone in the future reports getting a message that says 'NRaas.Relativity.Speed:Change, pie menus with names like 'Nraas.Relativity.Root:MenuName or something similar for another NRAAS mod, it is probably caused by an incompatible installation of Tiny UI fix

Have to admit, although it's great you got this fixed, the source of the script code not being revealed didn't make any sense to me until you returned to explain about the other mod. I've never used the UI fix, so didn't realize this was a thing. Good job.
Now with that out of the way, I'm curious as to why the need to uninstall Relativity. Does it conflict with something else you have going or does it do something unwanted even with a speed setting of 37 (default clock speed for the game before the mod comes along)?

I mainly installed it because I wanted to be able to make daily chores take less time compared to other activities, since I really dont like basic chores and would rather spend my time doing more interesting stuff, but it ended up making the chores take long anyway when you speed up the time, and in general messed with time when I used 3x or 4x speed etc, so I found it really annoying.
I felt unable to use the time speed as it would then cause cooking a meal to take like 2 hours anyway compared to around 30 in game minutes or so like it would be on 1x speed with the mod.
I also remember time going much slower while using 4x speed compared to how base game would be, so sleeping would take super long, which I despised.
It might be that I messed up with some settings but I started out with copying a post that had settings by Simsarah on tumblr. I tried to tinker with it to get to my preferred setup but I still couldn't seem to fix the annoyances I had no matter what I tried, so I eventually gave up.
So yeah basically the mod wasn't really able to do what I wanted it to, and messed with time when sped up.

Well, Sarah_Sims is right here as a colleague on this site. So, if you are still interested or might be at some point in the future, I am sure she would be happy to answer any questions you have about her preferred settings.
Most players have success with the mod after setting the overall clock speed to 19 or something around that (I prefer 23 myself) and then might need to make some small adjustments to particular motive decays or game speed issues to align more with their style of play.

Not sure if it applies here, but the Speedy Cleaner lifetime reward will cut down the time and animations for your sims doing daily chores.kimengels wrote: ↑March 9th, 2024, 6:15 pmI mainly installed it because I wanted to be able to make daily chores take less time compared to other activities, since I really dont like basic chores and would rather spend my time doing more interesting stuff, but it ended up making the chores take long anyway when you speed up the time, and in general messed with time when I used 3x or 4x speed etc, so I found it really annoying.
