Nrass Go Here Leave Baby at home

Post by SimmerZozo » September 1st, 2023, 9:48 pm

Hi, is it possible to JUST have the mod for the Daycare section?

I need the.. Leave Baby at home so there's no annoying notification and no babysitters.

But I do Not want the rest of the go here mod. Because it adds more interaction to my pie menu.

Here is a thread about this, you can change a lot in RETUNER
post93429#p93429

I don't think you can disable the rest of the menu interactions in Gohere, but you can
generally hide all nraas menus with ERRORTRAP tuning
NRaas_Common_MenuOnlyOnTesting.zip
This tuning hides all the mod menus while "testingcheatsenabled" is turned off.

So you need to enable/disable via Cheats Console CTRL+C testingcheatsenabled true (or false)

Oh error trap gives me more issues than to fix it. But that is good for anyone else who doesn't have that issue.

I will try to change the tuning for the Babysitter and see if that works.

Thank you ^^

Hm, that sounds weird.
Can you give examples? Normally Errortrap is a must have.
If Errortrap gives you Errorscript files, normal correction logs can be ignored/deleted, but others tell that something is not working correctly.

In addition you need Overwatch too by the way.

I suppose the Srcipt Logs annoys me and keeps spamming me notification. Since it's logs... I actually gotta do something or else it will keep spamming. And it feels more... Laggy?

I have Overwatch to reset stuff anyways so I don't need Error Trap telling me like.. Oh BTW, there is something wrong xD

Okay, let's try to clear up some misconceptions here if we can.

ErrorTrap, for most players on legitimate installs, current patch levels, and not playing with known game-breaking incompatibilities like these for example, generates one Correction Log and one Dereference Log (but sometimes it combines these two into one) per game session. World travel counts as a new game session in this case, so the same will happen upon arrival in a foreign world and again upon return. That's not exactly spamming the player with script logs throughout routine gameplay and these don't require any action. The game folder will only hold onto 10-12 script logs anyway and will then automatically begin overwriting them, with the oldest ones going out first, so it's not like they hang around causing an extreme abundance of clutter to cope with either.

If you are actually getting many real script error logs besides these two types from ErrorTrap, then possibly it is trying to tell you that something is wrong. We would be happy to help you interpret them if you share them with us, but otherwise we can only make wild guesses that are probably not helpful. ET performs a significant amount of game cleanup along the way as EA did not provide TS3 with proper junk data handling (garbage collection) like most modern programs should and do. Certainly there will be lag in the beginning once the mod is introduced to a game as it works to clean things up and may have much to do, but for most players the effects are minimal to not noticeable after a sim day or two. Removing ErrorTrap or never having it in play doesn't make the errors go away, it just leaves it so that they are no longer trapped and reported upon. And many of these errors will crash players' games if they are left "untrapped," but apparently the OP is not having that particular issue right now.

Having said all of that, let's get back to the matter at hand. The three (I think it's three) special menu items that GoHere adds to sims and the one it adds to terrain within a world are not under the NRaas menu, they are standalone interactions. Thus the ErrorTrap tuning file trick will not affect those and I believe they will still appear. There is no way to separate those or the daycare options (including leave baby at home with no care) out from the rest of the mod. That is, unless one wants to work in C# to design their own mod out of the not yet compiled open-sourced GoHere script code available from GitHub as discussed here, but that would be beyond the means of most players (including me) who are not C# script coders.

Our developer may need to step in and correct what I've just said in that last paragraph if I haven't got it completely correct, but like most Script Mods it can't really be tuned to do or not do something when that kind of flexibility is not built into its design.

Oh I see. I thought it's something you can seperate (or already have it seperated in a different file) and all you have to do was combined all the files together after that.

Well since my topic is already here. I hope someone can make a new Mod which leaves baby at home without a babysitter. Thanks!

I think the mod over at MTS is outdated but as you can find a working Retuner setting in the thread I linked above,
he/she also uses Register to set babysitter service to 0.
post93455#p93455

Without the need to use Gohere.

And check in Retuner this option, if you want Daycare
Retuner>Settings>General>ByObject>Sim
TakeCareofDayCareChild
