GoHere and Plantsim Flower Trails

Post by indignantgirl » June 20th, 2021, 11:28 am

I have a large household of plantsims in one of my games and I'd always low-key wondered why my daughter's plantsims walk around with flower trails and mine don't. I saw a few people mention GoHere but I dismissed that out of hand because she has GoHere installed as well. I tried some other recommended things (most of which added up to resetting in a variety of ways) but nothing worked and I figured, oh well.

And then last night I was messing around on her laptop and saw that she did NOT have GoHere installed. (I forgot we'd taken it out because she likes using the LLAMA system and Igazor said they aren't recommended to be used together.)

I hardly dared to hope, but yes! I took GoHere out of my game and reset my household and the other plantsim household and voila! Flower trails as far as the eye can see. These plantsims have never had a flower trail from day one so this is the first time I'm seeing it in my own game. It's all very exciting. :D

Is there a way to have flower trails AND GoHere? I mostly use GoHere for one thing and that is to keep inactive toddlers from being spirited away from community lots so quickly. But that is probably the most important thing in my game and it definitely wins out over flower trails.

Otherwise I can just pull GoHere for this one save. It's a small, fantastical island I've been populating with my plantsims and the flower trails are particularly nice there.

Ah, I had been meaning to fix this years ago but it slipped off my radar. I heard someone uploaded something that might resolve that along with (hopefully) caregiver errors.

Yesssss! The Something that Someone uploaded fixed the flower trails, both for newly placed flower sims and my existing flower sims! And extra kudos to Someone because I didn't even have to reset my existing flower sims. I went back to a save that had never even SEEN a flower trail and the trail automatically showed up. (Not that I minded resetting, it was just a pleasant surprise.) My flower sim save is so fancy now. I can't stop smiling! What a great day. :D

I did get the same caregiver error as before, but I'm only mentioning it as relevant to testing, because it's inconsequential in the game. And also, flower trails. <3

Ah well, one out of two. To confirm, you're sure it's the same "InitiateCaregiving" error?

In my test saves, it was the same error, and just once per household as before.

In an ongoing save, I got a fancier sort of caregiver error. But that's probably because this ongoing save already had a babysitter on the active lot at the time the game loaded, so I think GoHere thought it had to make a new babysitter. I only had to pay the second babysitter though, so it was a bargain. :D

I went ahead and uploaded both the regular and ultra versions.

indignantgirl,
This is just a shot in the dark and I may be completely wrong here but do you by any chance have Arsil's Child2Toddler2Baby mod installed and in use at the time the caregiver errors are happening? To be more specific, are you utilising the part of the mod that overhauls the feeding and diaper changing?

I'm pretty sure I had the same error when a babysitter was looking after my sims' toddler and baby. I don't think Arsil's mod is taking babysitters into account and they can't access the baby bottles or diapers. He doesn't mention babysitters in his mod description, only how it will affect the active and inactive sims. I tried putting some bottles and diapers into the babysitter's personal inventory (via DebugEnabler, I think) but they just disappeared so that obviously isn't possible. I wasn't that bothered by it at the time and just made a mental note not to hire a babysitter again while I was using that mod.

When I get a chance though (hopefully, tonight) I'll test this again in my game and will upload the ScriptError if Chain_Reaction wants it for comparison purposes. Providing I still get one of course. :-)

No, I've never used that mod, and luckily I'm not seeing any problem with the babysitters changing and feeding the babies/toddlers. However, you might be on the right track, because I do have other toddler mods, including Arsil's Extra Toddler Activities, Arsil's nap mat, and the "children can care for toddlers" by TheSweetSimmer.

I've had these mods forever, and GoHere too, but maybe one of them doesn't get along with the newest GoHere. The error I'm seeing only happens once per lot when the babysitter is triggered to show up, and then not during the babysitter's visit or ever again. Even when the babysitter ages up and we get a new babysitter, or I move a babysitter into town and the game makes a new babysitter, or I rotate away from the household and then rotate back, the error doesn't show up again. So it's not troublesome, just new.

I'm going to test with my "only nraas and cc" documents folder again, just in case it could be due to one of my toddler mods. I *think* I saw the error happen during my last "only nraas" test but I was focused on some other things as well so I could be wrong.

Okay, just to verify I tested again with just Nraas mods and I did get the same error as usual. Again, totally no big deal, but let me know if you want me to check something else. :)

Without any other mods, are you still getting the skills error? That one looks more like broken tuning mod. The other is my mistake but it's hidden pretty well where I've gone wrong. I'll keep at it.

No, the second error I posted (with the skills stuff) might have had to do with the babysitter already on my lot. When I first loaded up the extra new GoHere, she was already at my active lot, and my game became momentarily confused. A new babysitter was created and sent to my lot, and the first babysitter became a visitor. I've never seen that error before or since. Total one-off. The original babysitter showed up as usual the next day. :)

OH, wait. Could that caregiver "skills" error have to do with how Kama Simtra creates "professionals" among the service sims? Might it have been trying to make the newly created babysitter a professional (don't they get maxed KS skill?) and maybe the existing caregiver thing caused the fancy error?
