ErrorTrap's Correction/Dereferencing Logs

Post by Mellye » July 13th, 2014, 6:06 pm

I have a little question about those, if I may.
What are they exactly, and what to they do? Is it possible that things mentioned in those logs are deleted from my active's lot?
I ask because I was about to place a picture in a little digital picture frame that I had in my Sim's bedroom, and it's not there anymore.
I'm not sure when it could have happened though, because I ran into an issue with a rabbithole in the last 48 hours and I loaded and re-loaded a couple of time. A few logs were created and deleted during the process, so if the digital frame was mentioned somewhere, it's long gone now.

All this to say, anyone can explain what those types of log mean? :)

Here's a link with all the known Correction / Dereferencing ErrorTrap routinely corrections. Use browsersearch (CTRL+F) and type or Copy and Paste what you would like to know, example "Destroyed Object Found".

ErrorTrap in general doesn't delete items/objects that belongs to a Sim (active/inactive), whos in your world. ErrorTrap removes objects data that keeps lingering in your SavedGame file after its delete, by you or another mod/tool like MasterController / DebugEnabler / SaveCleaner.

Am I right that you just recently used SavedCleaner on your SavedGame not long ago? If so, thats the culprit that deleted the SNAP file from your SavedGame.

Makes sense, and good to know. :)
So I understand that it is safe to just delete these logs then, and not really mind about them.
Still not sure where that digital frame went, but since each Sim in the picture gets a copy, I won't have any trouble re-making the slideshow by pickpocketing around.
Thanks, SimAd. :)

And thanks, J4Ks ;)

No, I didn't use SavedCleaner because the one time I did, it deleted those same kind of pictures, so I decided it was a "don't touch that one" for me.
It's more an overloaded inventory that I'm cleaning out, fruits, vegetables, fishes. A lot of redecorating too, so I guess that would explain the log.

But that frame, I don't get it. I have been having an issue where I drag stuff to sell from the inventory, and when there's more than one item, I always have one that pops back on the floor and I have to sell again. Some pictures yesterday were refusing to be deleted in live mode, I had to go in buy mode to manage to do it, and I remember placing that digital frame in a safe spot... mmmm....

Anyway, thanks for the link, J4Ks, and thanks for the help. :)

Items sold from a sim's inventory while the game is paused will often appear to land on the floor once they are sold. For me, starting the game clock again makes them disappear properly. Or you can sell them while the clock is running. Is this what you meant?

You know, igazor, I actually never paid attention to that so I'm not sure if it's the same thing.
I'll make sure to check if this happens while the game is on pause or not. Thanks for the tip! :)

A few days later, but better late than never... You were right, Igazor. As soon as I hit that play button, what landed on the floor disappears. And there I was, deleting again and again... Didn't notice if I was getting the money twice though. :P
Anyway, thanks for the hint! :)

Your welcome, and if it makes you feel any better I had to have this explained to me by players here just a few months ago. It's a really old game bug that I hadn't seen for so long that I had forgotten all about it -- could understand my sometimes missing the sell icon when getting rid of stuff, but my aim shouldn't have been THAT bad! :)
