Yeah, I don't see anything that would cause that. Interesting. I've no idea how that could have happened then but as long as you don't have them showing up for dinner every day I'd say it's likely just this game being this game.

I disabled burglars completely,

to 0.
Who really needs them? I placed in all houses the alarm sign too, don't ever wanted to loose anything I placed anywhere

Thanks Chain_Reaction, and I'm not too worried either. This falls in the category of the kind of mild eccentricity that's standard for Sims 3 and would only be disconcerting if it were missing from my saves. And the burglars haven't come back since my sims moved (the most recent time, when it worked), so no, they haven't invited themselves to join the household.
C-Dark, thanks, but I already know how to disable burglars, in fact I listed the corresponding Retuner setting in my last post. In general, I'm not interested in removing negative events from my game just because they're negative and especially not because they're behaving oddly. If I want that, I do it myself or ask for help with that specifically. If I ask why something's happening, it's because I'm genuinely curious and would like to understand.

I only mentioned it, so others know that it works. I know that you are knowledgeable in everythingpuzzlezaddict post_id=97832 time=1700893508 user_id=17934 wrote:C-Dark, thanks, but I already know how to disable burglars,

One addendum to this thread. Does anyone know if having a dog "guard the house" has a chance of attracting a burglar? I ask because it happened again last night, at 8:55 pm, and the dog was definitely guarding the house. And now that I think about it, the dog was also definitely guarding the house one of the previous two times; I'm not sure about the other. This dog is Loyal and absolutely loves it, and I very much enjoy her snarling as the ice cream van appears in her thought bubble.
