Please Help Me Read My script error files

Post by Simming4Ever » September 22nd, 2023, 6:47 pm

Hello, I apologize if this is not the right place to post this. However, I recently got bombarded with error trap script error notifications. I have no idea how to read these files. There are a total of 4 in my save file. I'll only post the top one for now. Here is my file copy and pasted:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

-<NRaas.ErrorTrap>

<ModVersion value="100"/>

<BuildVersion value="0.0.0.32"/>

<Installed value="BaseGame, EP1, SP1, EP2, SP2, EP3, SP3, EP4, SP4, EP5, SP5, EP6, SP7, EP7, EP8, SP8, EP9, EP10, SP9, EP11"/>

<Enumerator value="4"/>

Hi,

You have a broken Role Manager, install Register, it should help.

And you also have the Hospital Overhaul mod installed, it hasn't been updated for the latest versions of the game.

It's a little hard to read the unformatted logs when they're pasted into a post, but there's a few things I can still pinpoint.

1. You have Smooth Patch's broken packages in play, which cannot be supported here.
2. Sims MX's Hospital Overhaul is extremely outdated and will undoubtedly throw errors on the most recent patch level. There's a spiritual successor on MTS called 'Enhanced Hospitals'.
3. This particular error could actually be related to an EA bug with the Role Manager, as you don't have NRaas Register in play which cleans up a whole lot of that.

Thank you both for your replies! Should I get rid of the smoothness patch all together? I got rid of the Hospital overhaul mod and I will take a look at enhanced hospitals. I also installed nraas register.

Hi there. At this point, it really depends on some difficult to pin down variables. The MC package portion of the Smoothness Patch has got to go, it makes the game totally unsupportable. But the impact of the rest of the Patch, including the adjustable changes made to Program Files, will vary by player and computer. Some got some good performance benefits from it. Others get some benefits at first, but find that their CPU (processor) has to work too hard as a result and that will bog the game down or cause it to eventually stutter and fail even with no obvious errors being thrown. And still others, not the majority or so it seems, find that it ends up ruining their games completely.

We can't recommend the rest of the patch, but we won't ignore or lock threads up if asked for help either like we pretty much have to do with players who still insist on using known to be broken mods even after it is explained to them. But it does get tiresome when we try to help players and every other sentence has to be "but we really don't know the impact that the Smoothness Patch is having on..." (whatever the stated problem was). :|

Hello, I was also wondering if the smoothness 1.0 is more reliable than the 2.0? I know the mod in general can't be recommended. However, I noticed the mod gives my game great performance benefits. Would version 1 risk my game?

I agree that it is an individual thing, but still many people use it, so don't be afraid to experiment.

I tested different versions of the Smooth Patch on three devices and the main files (which fit in the Game/Bin folder) didn't cause any problems. You can find older versions of the patch in this thread.
