Imaginary friends erroring/porter crash

I'm packing up families from the towns I made them in, prior to moving them to the town I made them for. One of the towns has been giving me errors related to imaginary friend dolls for a while but I ignored them because I was just going to move my families out as soon as I could anyway. I can't tell where the imaginary friend dolls live, but some of the family members were created by Master Controller/ instant baby and then aged up immediately, so maybe those are the erroring dolls?

Tonight as I was trying to pack up the families in this world where the erroring has been taking place, my very first try quietly and without fanfare resulted in a crash to desktop (before any packing happened, so I figure the families aren't corrupted). The only errors in error trap were correction logs and the imaginary friend doll errors. Are the glitchy dolls likely the reason for the crash? How do I find/fix/remove them if so?

The doll errors are harmless. How many families are you trying to pack at once? You shouldn't be trying large quantities.

There's 4 families, with a total of 16 sims. If it's not the dolls, I'll just assume it was a random glitch. Thank you.

It should be able to handle 16 Sims. Does it crash every time you try to pack?

This was only my 2nd try. The first one was successful. I'll just clear all my caches as usual and try again later today.

I should probably be writing about this in a Porter thread, but this is where I was writing about it before.

I've now packed another family successfully in the world where I packed my first family. I finally returned to Barnacle Bay to pack the families I had failed with before, and I failed again. This time I noticed exactly when the crash happened. It was when I clicked on the name of the first household, which was the household I was in at the moment. It was a different household than the one than I started with the other time, so I think the problem may be in the world, not the family?

EDIT:

well, happy (but slightly embarrassing) ending! The third try it worked fine. My guess is maybe I failed to clear all of the caches after the first crash? I don't remember for sure, but anyway all my families are packed and I'm ready to start my adventure.
