You can always start CASting up the outfits, furniture, etc. in use if you want at least some of them to be sporting bolder colors now. :)

The Dreaded Error 12...

Okay, I lied, I have another question. Now that I have made these alterations will it be okay to still play in full screen mode now and then or would you suggest I only use the border-less window mode? There does seem to be some difference, though slight, but I was just wondering if I should no longer play in full screen.

It should be perfectly fine to play in either mode. You may want to double-check those fps rates if you didn't already do so both ways but I think we've moved past all of that by now.

If you start getting screen tears or outright graphics glitches in full screen mode, that's Win 10 getting in the way potentially but not everyone experiences that.

JohnL83,
Would you mind copying and pasting your DeviceConfig.log again? I'd like to see what it looks like now, just to confirm everything is as it should be. :-)

Regarding above: I am wondering why it still says OS version Windows 8??

But I did check my FPS and all looks good in either mode, so far. I will remember to check in on that now and then too.

Your welcome Sarah, glad to know I got it right.

Hey, where did you get that hairstyle your sim has? I don't recognize it from any of my options and I do have a few from TSR too, but not that one.

That's because Win 10 is automatically using Win 8 compatibility mode for The Sims 3.

The Dreaded Error 12...

Post by JohnL83 » February 28th, 2019, 10:28 pm

Sigh....I got another error 12 and it was at the one-hour mark for the auto save. Sucks especially this time because I've been having my elder sim making potions for that hour and he was nearly to the point of discovering the 'young again' potion. Now I have to go through the making of the lame ones again.

I am creating an "alternate universe" where the elder couple I've mentioned before (my very first couple) both take the 'young again' potions. But I'm going to have the original game too, where they pass-on and leave their progeny behind. I'm a silly softy, but I've grown really attached to these two! But I don't want to mess with the original game since I've played it from the start as "real life" as possible. (which is why they never learned potions) Yes I have their YA versions saved in the bin, but we all know they are never exactly the same again. I've noticed with other sims that the aging up process isn't the same for the same sims either. I was a bit shocked by this. A few of them looked very different from their elder selves in other games. Those were long ago deleted, since I got the Traveler mod I've made it so there's no duplicate sims in the 5 games I currently have running, so people can vacation and such.
