Gardening on Community Lots

Post by littlelambsy » February 12th, 2019, 6:00 pm

In Retuner I've set Harvest, Weed and Water to True, as well as Allow on Community Lots. In fact, I've set every option to True but my sims still can only view and harvest plants, even though they're in desperate need of weeding (set through DE) So how do I get sims to garden on community lots? Also, how do you set it so all plants on community lots grow, get weeds and wilt?

I'm really wondering how you were able to bypass important point that many objects at three o'clock in the morning or so are being restored and cleaned. You've probably noticed that in the morning in public lots all toilets and sinks repaired, all books are put on shelves, all the blown up monuments restored and and so on. I think the same applies to plants. Does it make sense to play gardening in public lots?

LOL. No, it makes no sense. But, I have a homeworld university (that I dont use to send sims to, I use it mainly for individual classes and programs, and to use the skill facilities). This uni has a gardening section/program and my sim wanted to learn gardening. She doesnt have room on her home lot, so I wanted her to use the uni garden to gain gardening skills. But the lot is not cooperating.

I used DE to make the plants in need of weeding.

What is DE? And please don't think that I think this is a meaningless. Restoring objects can be a real stumbling block in this situation, because we are losing the scheme that we have going on at home lot. But what about the flower pots (or whatever it's called)? They are perfectly placed in the house if you don't have enough space for a garden in the yard. You can also read books, but I understand that you probably want to create an interesting student life where students can have practice, not just theory.

Right, I want to see my sims practicing. DE is Debug Enbler mod. The flower pots are good idea but defeats the university experience. :)

Afraid this is core blocked and isn't going to be possible without scripting.

I don't know if you use objects from the store, but maybe you have a set with a greenhouse that includes such a weird gardening thing. I'm not sure, but this contraption could be good for the skill and it should work on public lots. At least, theoretically, I didn't check it myself. This is only in case you have it, I don't recommend buying it.

Thanks Sara, I do have it. Not sure if it will make a difference since Chain mentioned the ability is core blocked.

Yes, some interactions with plants on public lots are blocked, but that thing from the store includes new interactions, I'd test it anyway and, if it works, I'd put in the University garden.
