Mods > Game Mods > [categories] actually would not work. Unless what you meant was that the folder that holds all of this is called Packages.

Like this?
The Sims 3 > Mods > Packages > Mods > Game Mods > [categories]

In any event, unless we are talking about a totally different warning message, the one you are describing can only be thrown by a mismatched core mod. Are you emptying your five cache files after removing mods but before starting up? And again, which patch level are you on?

Yes, sorry for not being clear - that's what I meant. I've got subfolders upon subfolders. I'll see if I have time tomorrow to get the notification and I'll make a screen shot. But it's a notification I haven't gotten for years, before I stopped using AwesomeMod.

And yes, I empty the cache every time.

Here's the screenshot with that notification! http://puu.sh/nATkC/7f549f1f91.png
It's with my my mods installed. Doesn't really bother me because I just want to get into the game and get the family out of the save, so I don't really need the mods installed besides the few NRAAS mods that would help me get the family out.

So I've been waiting longer than normal for the main title screen to pop up. Doesn't look like it's going to happen. BUT I HAVE GOOD NEWS. I did save the whole family in one household sometime back in December. So I moved my December to January Library files into my new game and they're there. But they're hideous because I've yet to finish testing mods and getting all my CC back into the game. I don't know /which/ library file they are, but there's only 7 to weed through. I'd normally rename a file right after saving a family to the bin, but I didn't think to at that point.

The only sad thing is that the third generation still consists of children and toddlers, so I lost some progress, but I didn't lose everything.

I'm sorry, but that's an indication that you either have a core mod (still) not intended for your game's patch level or something bad has happened with your game install.

Which patch level are you on (third time asking now) and what kind of game install is this/where, how did you obtain the base game and EP/SPs? Would that be retail store discs, Origin digital download, Steam, some other source (which one)?

I'm sorry I kept not answering your question about my patch level! I don't know why I kept forgetting to answer that! I'm on 1.67, and all my games were installed via retail store discs.

Thanks for that info. A total retail disc installed game on Patch 1.67 shouldn't be acting all goofy like this. The only thing I can suggest is to rebuild your game folder from scratch, only adding a very small number of mods at a time (the CC shouldn't cause this), testing after each addition. But it sounds like you're already in the middle of doing that.

Will have to throw this one open to my colleagues and the other players here to see what else they suggest.

Yea, even with my testing game I have a few mods installed that aren't showing up in the game. The More interactions mods are missing, and I'm not sure what else. I have to do some deep digging to see what's not showing up and replace them with a new file.

And, if that doesn't work I will start over. Again.

One thing I now see we haven't mentioned yet is that nesting of subfolders in Mods/Packages. The nesting can only go 5 levels deep, anything further in than that will be ignored unless you have a special version of Resource.cfg that allows for such.

^That is, I believe it's 5 levels deep but start counting at Packages.

Oooooooh, that could be my problem! I normally edit the resource file to read further into the subfolders but if I remember correctly it wouldn't read the Packages folder at all when I edited it, so I think I replaced it with the original. I haven't started the game yet today, so I'll take a look!
