Starting Over...

If I have a town that I have spent hours creating and setting up how I like it, but I want to start over with the inhabitants, would it be okay to just annihilate everyone and add sims back in?  Or would I just be better off starting everything over again from scratch, but first saving the buildings and homes I created to the bin?

I've done this many times. Which town is it you set up?  If I don't want the residents I just pick one sim as the active sim, then using MC I TA the whole town. Then I add the sims I want and then TA the last one of the original residents.   Just a tip, but when I start a world over from scratch, once its completed BEFORE adding residents, I save the world and put the save file in a safe folder. Then, if I want to start over again, I just add the saved world back to the saves folder and have a nice, clean, new set up world to start again.

Sorry for the double post. It said it didn't go through, so I tried again. Then I had to go out quickly, so didn't get to delete in time.

No problem, it was just one post when I saw it, I've been having the same problem and had a couple of my responses doubled up. I imagine they are still having some problems here. Such a shame at the attacks from bots and such. IDK why people do that stuff, it's just crappy and mean.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking it would be okay to do. The towns I'm considering this are Bridgeport and Twinbrook. I've grown bored with them both and Twinbook was my second town ever. Sunset Valley got me started and will remain because they were my first and are my favorite sims! But Twinbrook is the town where I experimented with various types of sims (traits and such) and now that I have all these mods I want to have my sims travel from town to town occasionally and there are just too many duplicate sims. Basically I used Twinbrook as a testing ground, saved the sims or families I really liked, then set that family up in another town, but not by moving so their doppelgangers live in my other towns, many in Sunset Valley.  I really love how I set up Twinbrook and have upgraded nearly every non-rabbit-hole venue so I didn't want to lose the town itself. :-)  As for Bridgeport...I might just delete that and start over though, I kinda hate that city anyway, except for the amazing view my core family there has from their posh mansion across the bay. lol

Twinbrooks was one world I liked but never really played it. I've never liked Bridgeport. I guess it's because I'm a country girl and don't like cities. I always delete tall apartment building in every world I find them in.  I also like my open workplaces, using Zerbus mod. That way I can play my sims while at work instead of having to wait for them to get home.  So I often put some of those buildings in my worlds.

I was born in a small town, grew up in a bigger town, lived in a couple of big cities, and now have ended up in an even smaller town. I like cities for some things, like culture and diversity, but I do enjoy the peaceful quite of the countryside and the amazing night skies. True city folk have no idea what's above them at night, and while I love the view of a nighttime big-city skyline, nothing beats the Milky Way.  :-)  My problem isn't the city in Bridgeport, but the fact that all those tall buildings are basically useless since each only has one real apartment.  It's too bad you can't have multiple dwellings more like a real city. But I get why not in this game, I mean it's pretty glitchy as it stands and that's the other reason I tend to not care for Bridgeport. No room for families and it tends to lag the most of all the towns.
I'm not familiar with Zerbus Mod but it sounds interesting. I will Google that to see what it's all about.

JohnL83... Zerbus mod allows you to assign a sim to a building that is equipped with all the things your sim need to work with. Then you can watch him go to work and direct him to do things while working. Its like having an open RH.

Shel008 - Your posts and their replies (sorry I seem to have lost one along the way, this is a new forum feature and I've never used it before) have been split off into a new thread on the Installation Help board over here.  :)
