Personal update

Post by Veiledstar » February 8th, 2016, 3:11 pm

Sorry this isn't sims related, but I haven't been on here and I hope it's ok to update you all that may have wondered where I disappeared to.

I have had some trouble just using the computer in recent months due to some really high pain. My concentration levels tanked and I thought it was from something I was previously diagnosed with, but it turns out it wasn't. I finally got a new diagnosis, so hopefully I will be able to use the computer again soon for more than a few minutes and be back to sims. I miss it and I miss you all greatly!

I do still lurk every now and then and read posts, so I'm here :) You can always send me a message if you are wondering if I fell off the face of the earth.

Hey, Vstar. Great to hear from you, wish it could have been over happier news but certainly hope you are on your way to a better recovery now!

Hi Star, thanks for the update, you're always welcome to make a post on our board whether its sims related or something else. Hope that new treatment (?) will bear its good fruits and you'll be Simming again, keep us informed.

I am starting a test treatment on Wednesday, J4Ks, that will hopefully work with another treatment. If not, there are other options. The good news it isn't deadly, but it has impacted my ability to walk greatly. I am hoping to get some of it back.

Awww... that's quite quick. Did the doctors informed you what it entails, what you can expect the first week and how long you will need to follow the treatment?

I dearly hope for you that it's something that can give you some relief, finally, from that daily ...... you are going through. And, although you been patient with all those treatments in the past, but hopefully you can muster some patience (again) with this new one and take it with baby steps (figure of speech).

Do you still have that site running with your daily journal (?) or was it an explanation of what you have? Updated?

I haven't updated sims stuff in a very long time, J4Ks, so the update is just to let you all know I'm still kicking :) I'm going to have a nerve block tomorrow and then PT if the block helps, but I'll need weekly blocks because they only last for a few hours. I've got complex regional pain syndrome in my left foot from surgery. If the block doesn't work we will try a nerve simulator and more medication, but it's a pretty fast moving disease, so they want to move on it.

Thanks igazor, CR, littlelambsy and brappl. I have missed you all :)

I haven't had my injection yet (I have it tomorrow...thanks insurance), but I have been able to sit and play sims 2 for a few hours for the last few days. So the good news is that my hands have felt good enough that I can probably try and play sims 3 in the next few days! Yay! Now just to try and pick a save to play!! Ooo and update a few mods. Looks like I have missed a few since I last played.
