Rotational Play and Daycare

I wasn't going to say anything prior (rare for me, I know :) ) since Sarien18 was getting different results than I did, but the curfew system is intended to be applied to children and teens. It was always my impression that YAs and older ignored those settings, at least by design anyway.

Well that would explain why my sim didn't comply with the curfew settings. I just wish there was a way to stop her leaving the house right before kids are to be teleported in. Having her set at level 5 seems to keep her there, but its a real dance trying to get her to be at home and coordinate the departure times for work.

Hi LittleLambsy,

I'm glad you tried some stuff out! I'll get the settings for you tonight; I'm currently at work. I'll also double check his Level.

The two helper ladies actually live at the house with the main daycare sim. So the three of them are a "family" even though they are not related. I believe I also turned off romance interactions for the three of them. No distractions!

One thing I didn't think of: my neighborhood has a lot of babies/toddlers at the moment. It's possible my daycare sim doesn't try to leave the lot because there's always a baby there. All the babies/toddlers he receives are from the neighborhood itself, so the game doesn't generate random babies for him. Perhaps that locks him down to the lot since he has to work. I'll spy on him more closely in the future and see if I can catch him home alone.

Yet I don't recollect the two helper ladies leaving at all either, and they are in the same "Daycare" cast I set up for him.

I'm glad the teleporting works when you select "call a babysitter". That's how it works for mine. Another thing that is interesting to me: Brappl's parents physically go to the daycare and drop off their babies. My game has never done that. Here is Brappl's post from a while back:

Hello Sarien18 - I can not comment on the plumbots as I do not play with them.
Regarding the appearance of the babies. In my game the residents are carry their babies/toddlers and go into the house to put them down. Then they literally run out the door and off the lot.

But - I never did ask brappl if those drop offs were neighborhood residents or sims just generated for that moment.

Wait, where did the rest of my post go??
I typed it all up and everything. I'm sorry!

I'll try this again.

He is Level 5.
His settings are:

Push Allow After Work: FALSE
Push Allow During Day: FALSE
Push Allow to Party: FALSE
Push Allow to Work: TRUE

I also gave him static motives for: Fun, Hygiene, Hunger and Energy.

He actually doesn't have curfew, but I remember messing around with it. So perhaps Level 5 is what he needs? But his two female caretakers never leave either, and they don't have curfew either.

Sarien18 - Thank you for your (cheat) ideas!

It was driving me crazy that all my toddlers/babies were home with sitters while the daycare worker was at the gym/library/bistro... I was considering locking his doors so everyone but he could use them. :D I made the changes, and now he happily stays home and tends kids. He even picks up toys, when I didn't make him neat!

I had already figured out that the house/daycare needed to be redone. I had downloaded one that looked good. I soon realized that having the daycare in the basement wouldn't work. The occasional toddler that showed up never made it down there. The family doesn't seem to mind living downstairs while Dad is upstairs with his charges.

I'm glad his energy level is static. Whenever I peek in his house, there are toddlers. At 3 AM!
