Nothing helpful to add really, but I just wanted to say that the mourning has been troubling me also and I'd love some emotion nulling possibility for the closest sims to the deceased for like a couple of days. Would definitely add a realistic touch to the game. I didn't know about the ambrosia, which is nice to know, though I never bring any dead sims back to life. But Sarah's hint was very useful! I've been banging my head to the wall for the same reason as JohnL83. So thanks on my behalf, too!

Hi, shooting_well! Glad to know I'm not alone on the death issues. It truly amazes me the stuff that never occurred to the creators of this game. Do they even play? haha Thank goodness for modders, the game is tons more fun with them! :-)

Sarah_Sims - okay, guess what?....all this time I was so sure I had SP Extra! I knew I'd downloaded the darn thing, but apparently I'd never unzipped it into the game folder! LOL. I just kept looking for that "Propagate Mourn Moodlet on Death" thing and it was nowhere to be seen! I thought perhaps I just wasn't looking in the right places so I searched every single place in SP! (wow did that take some time!) I knew I'd downloaded the file because I saved all of them in a folder! Cut to days later and I FINALLY decided to check the mods folder.....OMG how dumb do I feel that it never occurred to just look in my mods folder to see if it was there!
Jeeez! color me stupid. :-P

SIGH!........
Still cannot find the option in SP> General Options > Death ??? I only get a list of like 4 things and none of them have to do with Propagate Mourn Moodlet on Death. I still don't see this anywhere and I've made sure this time that I have the SP Extras mod installed. :-(

Are the other SP Extra options showing up in-game? Because without the Extra or Money add-ons installed, it looks like you'd see only five options under General Options > Options: Deaths.

This is what I get when I open Nraas> SP> General Options> Options: Deaths:
Ancestral First Choice
Marked as EA Protect
Speed
Stories
And that's it. Unless it's somewhere else, but I've looked at everything that has to do with death and it is not there. When I load the game the start screen where the window pops up to show what mods I have shows that SP Extras is listed there. I'm not sure what's going on. I know I have the right download because my game is vs 1.63 or higher. Do I need to have all the SP extras? I only have SP Sp Extra's and SP Career. But why would i need them all if SP extra's is the one that has the Propagate Mourn option?

I meant the "SP Extra" add-on, not all the extra mods that go with SP. Since you didn't list the options you were seeing until now, I was guessing that you only had the SP vanilla options available. But you could look at the list of SP interactions here and see whether any of the ones listed as needing "Extra StoryProgression" show up. If not, then the question is why Extra isn't doing its thing in your game.

Of course, it's probably something simple that I don't know about, but at least you'll be able to narrow things down a bit.

As an easy to reach example, take a look at just about any sim in your world under NRaas > SP > Sim Options. You should see an option for Stasis (default = False), this is provided for by the base mod. Just under that, do you also see Static Motive:Bladder (Energy, Fun, Hunger, etc.)? Those are all part of SP Extra.

I have SP Extra installed. I have SP, SP Careers and SP Extras . I don't know how to be more clear on that. As I stated it's in the Mods folder when I go into my EA folder and it's showing up when I get that pop-up window at the beginning of the game where I choose which town I want to play. So the file is there, but apparently it's "not doing its thing" because that list I gave is all that shows up when I go into Nraas> SP> General Options> Options: Deaths:
I haven't had a chance to do Igazor's suggestion yet because I just closed down for the night and loading times are just too long to head in there again today. I know it's installed and I know I did it correctly and I know I picked the right file because I checked all of those things more than once to be sure and I even deleted it from the mods folder and downloaded the file again and re-installed. Then I went to play and again...the pop up window says SP Extras is there, but when I click on City Hall and NRaas SP I don't see the thing about mourning.

Just a suggestion for the future. You might want to keep a small game save with very few sims in a very simple world handy for quick loadups so you can test and check things like this when loading up an entire long-running complex game save is not an efficient way to do so.
