Was it because you couldn't zoom in from Town View? If that was it if you Save and then reload you should be able too from then on. Unless you had Isle of the Sims 1 or was it Isle of the Sims 2 also installed maybe they have the same World ID which means you could only have one installed at a time.

The zoom issue seems to be a random thing I have a thread on it here http://nraas.wikispaces.com/share/view/81002325
It was caused by OW on the first load up of a few worlds but oddly doesn't happen all the time with the same worlds as I didn't have it with this install of Isle of the Sims 3. Never happens with EA worlds just custom worlds.
