Sim Mystery. Removed Custom Images. No Glitch

Post by Sunshine_25 » February 29th, 2024, 1:36 am

This is the second unsettling event I have had in game involving my sims and the scrapbook feature. The first event is so incredibly unbelievable I don't feel comfortable talking about it publicly, yet. So, I will start with this one.

Bridgeport.
My sim Amy is in a committed relationship with Alexander. They have both received the 'Eternally Faithful' moodlet. Alexander has never cheated on Amy; however, Amy has technically cheated on Alexander. I say technically because what it 'actually' was - was two sims trying to find a way past their 'inescapable sexual attraction' for each other.

Sounds unrealistically silly, I know. And, trust me, I know how this is going to sound/read to people who primarily believe everything about the sims in rooted in and can be explained by 'the code' (no insult implied although I know the tone in reading suggests otherwise). Never-the-less, it happened. What I don't know is 'How & Why'. Well, I know 'Why' from my Sim's perspective. However, I am at a loss when it comes to 'Why' from the view of the game and exactly 'How' it was done.

The Recap:
Amy and her friend Steven shared a moment of intimacy while she was in a committed relationship with Alexander. At the time, the three of them resided in the same household. Although "I" knew due to circumstances Amy didn't 'actually' "cheat" on Alexander the game should have reported it as such because 'technically' she did. I had proof of this in the form of an image in their scrapbooks. I say "had" because the images have been selectively removed and not by me.

I have velocitygrass' 'No Automatic Memories' mod in my game and have for years. The mod works. Also, every shot in my sim's scrapbook was taken by me with the event summarized in text by me (from the perspective of the sim). How is it possible for the images of this event to be removed from both of their books? The images aren't damning, and I have a copy of them as I do for every image I have them take in game. My images are for my real world 'Simming Scrapbook'. I have attached them for you to see.

In addition to the images being removed (from both of their scrapbooks), the game has re-adjusted Amy's actual relationship stats. It states:

1). Amy has been in two relationships (she has only been in one).

2). She never cheated on Alexander (she slept with another sim while in a committed relationship, that's cheating).

3). And she's been eternally faithful to Alexander (while technically true it isn't actually true).

Amy's romantic relationship with Alexander is at 63 days. Her romantic relationship with Steven is 0 days. She and Steven slept together 42 days ago, that's 21 days into her relationship with Alexander. Now I may be wrong, but I think it takes more than 21 days to be declared 'Eternally Faithful' by the game.

What I would like is for anyone to explain to me how it is possible for a sim, or the game can remove specific 'unwanted' memory images from the scrapbook. As far as I know a sim can't view another sim's memory book. So why remove it? I get that the coupling is supposed to be a secret kept between them and they haven't forgotten it happened, so why take it out of the books which are meant only for me to see? Amy has two (x2) pages of custom memories and none of the others are touched.

I don't think this is a solvable issue. However, I would love to hear any theories no matter how wild they are concerning this event. Also, the other two missing events both contain 'not proud' memories, so I can see (from the sim's POV) why they were removed. I have included them as well. EDIT: I had to remove the image of the relationship status because it exceeded the number of allowed URLs. Instead, I focused on the missing images.

Did you cleanup the save file , it may delete images.
for cheating status , other partner should be alarmed by other sims gossips or direct chat to acknowledge ,otherwise they end up on faithful status.

Nope. I haven't cleaned the save file. I may be wrong because I don't know how the scrapbook works. But these are custom pictures, if one image is affected in the book wouldn't they all have been affected? There are images which were taken before and after the event which are still present in Amy's book. I think in Steve's book I hadn't taken any other pictures past that event. Plus, they are two different pictures taken at two different times in the event. Amy's was taken before woohoo and Steve's was taken after.

When it comes to cheating, I honestly don't know what the requirements are because I don't have my active sims engage in it. Although I do remember the game classifying another of my sims in a different household as a cheater once because of something a flirty sim did. The details of that one is fuzzy at best. The only thing I remember about it was how pissed I was because I knew it was incorrect and I couldn't remove it from my sim's stats. So, I figured if the game could tag that sim for cheating when they didn't why didn't it tag Amy as a cheater when she actually did?
