Hi
I'm having a weird issue with my Sims game and really hoping somebody can help me out. I've recently bought a new laptop and installed the Sims3 on it.The game will crash at 12:56am every sims day.
I get no error message, it just closes the game.The error file says:"type: ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000034address: 0x45ec4e65 "C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\dxilconv.dll":0x0001:0x00013e65"
The only cc I have is Overwatch, ErrorTrap and Mastercontroller.
Does anybody have any suggestions of what else I can do?

This crash is normally an out of memory thing.
Can you please give everyone the right to access the links?
Can you tell what is actually happening in your save at this time?
How many sims residents do you have?
What world are you playing.
If someone can read the log, what computer are you playing?

My sim was just sleeping, it's a single sim household.
Currently playing on Anne Arbor but the issue has happened on other worlds and saves too. It's more prevalent on custom worlds, but has happened on regular worlds after a few sim days.
The laptop has 8gb ram, 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12450H 2.00 GHz processor. Playing on windows 11.

An access violation isn't normally or even all that commonly an out of memory crash. It simply means the application in question tried to access a memory address in a way that isn't supported or that the OS doesn't allow.
In the case of this crash, Sims 3 wasn't anywhere near its own memory limit, according to the crash log:
Total virtual memory: 4095 Mb
Free virtual memory: 2213 Mb
However, the OS was somewhat near its limit:
Total physical memory: 7884 Mb
Available physical memory: 616 Mb
Total page file memory: 12748 Mb
Available page file memory: 2451 Mb
So in the future, it would be useful to close background apps before opening Sims 3; even a single Chrome window can use an alarming amount of RAM. It would also be helpful to know how much memory is in use after a restart, with nothing open at all.
I can't really make sense of the dumped alarms, but the file is extremely long and lists events at all hours of the day, so I could easily have missed something. Not that I'd recognize a problem if I saw it, but still, it's a lot of info.
