I feel you. (Also, hejsan, neighbour to the west! ;)) I would also enjoy a TS3 forum where to chat more casually and share things, screenshots etc. If you ever end up finding a place like that that you like, I'd be interested as well. I'm not on social media, either, and only use tumblr, but I do find tumblr a bit difficult to engage in a proper back-and-forth type chatting. It's also confusing to keep track on what's going on.

I'd be happy to help you get settled and give recommendations for existing simblrs to follow if needed
Please, do share! :-* I'm especially interested in simblers that post beautiful screenshots (with less additional text) and modders/CC providers.

It would be my pleasure! Because there's a link limit, I'll list them by exact blog name that you can add the .tumblr.com part to.

Primarily Mods/CC:
zoeoe-sims - Less active blog, but this is Zoe22- one of the moderators at MTS- and she sometimes posts creations on the blog that aren't hosted anywhere else!
aroundthesims - Sandy! Gigabytes of her content is in my game, so I couldn't leave her out- it's great to keep up with what she's working on. Posts for TS4 as well, but still backports the majority of her creations.
sweetdevil-sims - A lot of age/gender conversions and a familiar face around MTS. Also has unique mods hosted there- my personal favourite are her pies.
philosimy - TS1 enthusiast who remade every part of the original neighbourhoods in TS3.
omedapixel - A creator who doesn't seem to post anywhere else, some very unique creations.
twinsimming - Some great mods + the first person I sort-of collaborated with, I added the geostates to her default replacement trees :)

Mods and Screenshots:
anitmb - The same Ani as the archive of mods here. She's on a break at the moment, but posts her own creations and screenshots.
danjaley - Very talented historical creator, often converting items to TS3 and posting screenshots.
simsarahsarah - NRaas' very own Sarah_Sims, who has a blog rich with mod documentation and story screenshots even if she's on hiatus for now.
greenplumbboblover - Lyralei, another MTS moderator and longtime contributor and modder. Some of the recent screenshots are NSFW.

Probably missed some, but that's who I could recall in one sitting.
I unfortunately don't know of any existing blogs that are primarily screenshots- and that's right up my alley, so if anyone knows of any or has their own squirrelled away I'd love to know!

And... while I'm here...
carnivalcardinal - Added one set of screenshots just so it's not blank, will be a little while longer until I'm active here. My sims are a little too sentimental to me to post day-to-day gameplay or stories, but there will be more cinematic screenshots.
My main project close to release is a set of default remakes of every basegame hair, so there will be a lot of CAS related misc uploads and progress shots following that. Don't hold your breath on how long it'll take to get all that released, but it's default harvestables and a bunch of food recipes after that.

I just checked the simblrs I follow, turns out most of them haven't been updated in months, if not years. :(
But that goes for me as well, so can't complain.

Some that do still update:
Posts mostly screenshots of sims, sometimes builds, with an asian style: https://simsmono.tumblr.com/
Posts screenshots and other stuff, (co)creator of several well-known worlds including Praaven, Cronor and Northeney: https://nornities.tumblr.com/
Prolific creator of poses, should you be into those: https://poses-by-bee.tumblr.com/
Mostly screenshots, and the occasional ramble: https://www.tumblr.com/summerreverie

I checked back on this thread and saw the links. I'm not unfamiliar with Tumblr and know that there are a lot of good CC to find there. (As it seems stories and other things as well for those who likes it). Thank you both for your work finding the links. :)

But speaking for myself I (unfortunately) have to say that this was not that quite what I was looking for. I think Kukko69 was spot on here:

Yeah, that says it all. I think that is what I was looking for: to be part of a bigger group. Example: A thread contains funny images. Someone posts a pic. I respond to that by liking and/or commenting. Maybe post something myself and get a respond to that. Another member comes in from a completely different angle (we all have different play styles and what not) and make a post. I might not react but someone else does. And so on... I'm not the one who posts something and say: This have I done today. Like, Comment, Subscribe... (sorry). But jokes aside, I think that's also my problem: I'm a little old fashioned.

I totally understand. Honestly, Tumblr looks quite unfamiliar from when I last used it- so I don't know if it's a perfect fit for myself either. But it's a good place to put everything that doesn't quite fit on MTS, so it may not be perfect but it will do for keeping loose ends in check for now. And I've already had some lovely interactions with the community, so ultimately worth it.

Another option is Discord, I heard there are a few sims servers- Simscord and the Creator's Cave I know of, there might be other active ones that are more social focused. I think The Sims Asylum has one too?
I have a personal bias against tech and mod support that can't be archived, so it's not for me. Even if I wasn't too much of a Nervous Subject type person to participate in a chat room to begin with, I couldn't imagine helping out somewhere the answers aren't around for the public to refer to. It might be a better fit for just hanging out and sharing, though.

Maybe a new site will come around, one day. I'm pretty absorbed in meshing and Blender for now, but managing a website is something I'd love to do in the future. Think the Stardew Valley wiki's thoroughness, but for TS1 through TS4. But there are only so many hours in a day

All things being relative (coughs), if you are willing to mess with your real life clock speed I think we have a mod that can fix that. :)

Funny comment! :D

I did read the comment from CardinalSims and decided to check out Discord. There seemed to be some interesting servers there but I could not wiew them as guest. Do anyone have experiense with the platform? On what server? IS it free and how does it work? (I had no help from the FAQ section).

I use Discord a lot and am in... ten different servers. I should probably drop a few.

I like Discord a lot for what it offers, which is real-time chat and (sometimes) troubleshooting. It's not at all a substitute for a forum because there's no good way to look through old posts. Sure you can search for them, but you have to use keywords or else page through a user's entire post history. You can't simply skim a series of threads looking for something interesting to read.

I don't post screenshots, for the purpose of documenting my play at least, because of how quickly they effectively disappear. I've seen a few players post a sort of narrative as they play, just funny scenes or notifications. I don't get the sense that anyone goes back to read these channels after the fact, but I could be wrong.

Discord is free and you can easily create an account just to look around. I'm not in the servers CardinalSims mentioned, but among the ones I am a part of, check out the Lazy Duchess server for an example of a server that's somewhat active without being overwhelming. It has very little Sims 4 traffic, just Sims 2 and 3, but you'll at least get the idea of how people use it.

I would absolutely not recommend the official Sims Discord, which is noisy and disorganized. I joined when it was created and immediately muted almost everything, and I only show up to post a new Known Issue or when I hear that someone is spreading misinformation. There are no Sims 3 channels at all, just 4 and (for some unexplained reason) Freeplay, plus a lot of channels for announcements and contests and self-promotion from the Creator Network types. There's also no help allowed there, but people try anyway.

OK, if it's free I can try it out. I'm aware of that it won't be a substitute for a forum.

This is my experience again, of course, but I haven't found Discord fulfilling my need for the kind of community I want, either. :( It is too fast, and the pressure of being constantly online or you'll miss something interesting going on (as it's live chat) just doesn't fit well with my easy-going, casual pacing style and outlook on life. I'm 100% a forum based person where you can read what others have posted on your own time and as far back as you want, very conveniently. This is almost impossible on Discord. It's really hard to follow any conversation on there if the server has a lot of traffic going, and I often feel ignored as people don't have time / interest / whatever to react to what others are saying, just spitting out their own stuff and often changing the trail on the conversation completely. That's not the back-and-forth sharing culture, either, that I'm looking for.
