If you want your sims to have extra traits and be applied to all sims automatically (random but can be changed), you can set up the number of traits...

That is not possible unless (a) you have tuning files in place that set the mods' default settings to something other than what they originally are...

This isn't preventable. So much of the relationship code does this to cut down on error checking. It's very lazy EA coding.
