What makes a confirmed kill with Careers Assassination?

Post by kimlupai » January 25th, 2021, 9:05 pm

I've started a new game recently and in it I'm using Dexter the Bear and the assassination skill to deal with a zombie apocalypse (sort of). My sim killed their first zombie using Dexter the Bear the other day. The zombie sim was on the zombie's home lot and they were the only one living on that lot. There were no other sims on the lot when my sim killed the zombie.

However when I checked the assassination stats it showed that she had one confirmed kill, zero unconfirmed kills and 10,000 police aggression. If there were no witnesses around, what made the kill count as confirmed? Would Grim's presence be enough to confirm my sim as the killer? Because honestly, if that's so, I really want to be a fly on the wall at the trial when Grim shows up on the witness stand.

When I went into map view, after Grim had finished collecting the dead sim, I did notice the newspaper delivery child a fair distance away but walking towards the zombie's home lot. They later used that lot to dematerialise/go home but they definitely weren't on the lot at the time of the killing. Perhaps it's that a sim has to be within a certain radius to count as a witness, not necessarily on the lot at the time of the killing?

I'd rather like to find out the answer so I can avoid any further confirmed kills. I mean my sim is killing zombies, the police (if there were any in town - the police station got destroyed) shouldn't get mad at her for that?

Thank you for any help.

It looks like it's confirmed if you don't escape the lot before the death rites are completed. So yes, grim is going to float on to the witness stand and spill the tea.

Thank you Chain. I appreciate you confirming that. My sim will ensure that she makes a quick getaway from now on.

Now I just have to wonder how the heck the court officials are going to get a summons to Grim. I hope they know the rites of AshkEnte and have the required 8 wizards, " big yellow candles, lots of rare incense, circles drawn on the floor eight different colors of chalk and a few cauldrons around the place" or at least 8 wizards, 3 small bits of wood, 4cc of mouse blood and a simple incantation... :D
