I read it in a different place, on the Issues page for the Careers mod, which linked to this page: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/share/view/75758103

But I'm not sure it's going to work anyway. I place the Salmon Woods University from My Sim Realty, which I had downloaded several months ago, when I was having all those issues with my game that I asked about here, that culminated in having to replace most of my computer's hardware components. I'd never tried it since. Anyway, I placed that in the town, and placed the rabbithole rugs in the proper places, then tested it by trying to send my sim to enroll. He stayed on his lot and fussed about not being able to go there. So I sent him to visit the building, and once he was inside, I clicked on the building and selected for him to enroll. Again, he stood there waving his arm and complaining he couldn't go there. I tried sending him to one of the other rabbitholes and got the same result.

So I tried another university student union from My Sim Realty, but it was only a student union, with no place for the rabbitholes. So, I placed the shells for the administration and school of arts buildings, for testing and to find out what the education program entails, and sent him to enroll. He enrolled successfully, but he received no textbook and no study object, and there was no hint of any kind as to what skill(s) he needs to work on to gain academic performance. If all he can do is attend classes, his performance isn't going to gain him a good enough grade be of any help toward his career.

So unless someone can tell me what is possibly missing that is needed so that he can work on his performance outside of class, I think I'll save my first attempt at a homeworld university for another sim, and one of the regular EA academic programs.

Where you mentioned you just placed the shells for the administration and school of arts to test: Did you also include the Rabbit Holes for those as well as the Annex, School of Science, School of Business? The Student Union does not have a RH. You would not see information for the courses unless the RH's are there and I believe you also would need all the RH's placed. I place them in the correct buildings and generally anywhere on the ground floor. Not sure if that is correct protocol but it's worked in the worlds I play them.

OK, I didn't place the other rabbitholes. There was no room on the lot for the buildings. Do the rabbithole rugs need to be inside the rooms? In the Salmon Woods University, I put them over the matching regular rugs in front of the doors. Would that be why they didn't work? I will play around with it some more.

I would not put RH rugs over those other rugs. That is probably why they did not work. I play with 3 Unis, including Salmon Woods and in all 3 I removed the small circular rugs and placed a RH rug. Give that a try Calista and see if that works for you.

Thanks, @brappl. That worked. He was able to enroll and got a full class load. But he still had no textbook or study object, and I still have no clue what skill(s) are involved in the education program.

Did you check in your Sims Personal Inventory. Once they enroll at the Administration Building a Back Pack and other course items are found in their inventory. If you check in the Career Tab it will show the Course, i.e. Business, Science etc. along with a button for their Class Schedule. In that same area under Responsibilities if you put your mouse over Skills/Objects it will tell you what your sim needs to do. Does this help?

I should have explained that better. When I advised to check in the Career Tab I was referring to the tab next to Relationships where you normally see job information. It now has a little grad cap. Also, under Responsibilities if you move your mouse over a responsibility you will see what your sim needs to do.

Education is a custom degree. It doesn't get a study object or a book. It should have a class list though.
