[Testing] Hybrid V11 Released

Post by Chain_Reaction » May 19th, 2020, 4:28 am

...Does he still have it after two years of not modding? We'll find out if you want to test the latest Hybrid. :D

Not a full time return to modding, just getting my feet wet. There are still many glaring issues for me to resolve with the site before I can dedicate more free time to modding. Nevertheless, I am once again to open to attempting to resolve outstanding mod issues that are plaguing a large number of users such as this one.

Now for the massive release notes:
  • This release should restore the bloom interaction to fairies.
That took me forever to write up.

This release also marks my first Visual Studio 2019 release. VS 2019 compiles code more intelligently which has resulted in a reduction of the overall size of the mod. I don't quite know how the game will react to this but it seemed fine from my tests. Nevertheless, if you start crashing, please let me know.

You'll find it on the update history testing page, of course.

That's all for now. :)

Since every time I have offered this developer a cup (pot) of coffee to help him along with whatever he may be working on, all I've ever gotten in response is disgust, indigestion, childhood stories of his auntie who was apparently some sort of evil caffeine pusher, and threats to have me banned from the Careers mod board, we may need to take a different approach here.

We can find him a tech writer for those massive release notes.

But kudos for being back in the saddle again, even if only for a test spin. :)

I wanted to report that the bloom interaction occurs for the two fairies I used for testing, on every plant that had previously been harvested. I'm a happy sim gardener!! It will be awesome being able to have the other LTW in-game again that needs the bloom ability. No crashes to desktop, loaded just fine. I hope to get more playtime this weekend and will be using that save again more extensively and will let you know if anything unusual happens. You rock! My fairies have honored you with a special section in the garden named after you...The Chain_Reaction Nook.

This seems to be working as advertised in my game, as well. I was OK with the workaround that was discovered, but it's nice not to have to worry about it anymore. :)

(And I'll volunteer my services as tech writer! I'm very wordy, you know. ;) )

Just saw this thread, excited to see Bloom getting fixed! Is this test version available to public or is it still in internal testing phase? When I looked at the Hybrid download page, it still seems to be version 10.

Well that's fantastic! But juuuuuuuuuuuust an unpopular question....are you ever, eVeR, EVER going to update that darn Mod Updater? \:-(

...Juuuuuust kidding, ya hardcore coder! It's nice to see we're testing our beloved Nraas mods once again! And hey, don't sweat it! It may be just a minor code debug, but even we can tell you and the team are doing a swell job nonetheless! :D

Unfortunately we have some limitations with our dropbox backend that pose a challenge in making that happen. It's still on the table but is unlikely anytime soon.
