Affairs with SP and Woohooer

Post by Candyd85 » April 26th, 2016, 10:23 am

Hello, so as you know, by default Sims love flirting with anyone who isn't their relative and give each other flowers all day long... I was really annoyed with that almost infinite number of romantic interests, so I took the radical decision in Woohooer to allow romance only with their partner. However I don't want to forbid absolutely all possible affairs especially for Sims who are flirty or have commitment issues. I'd like to know if SP affair system overrides Woohooer settings, allowing a reduced number of affairs this way, or if I have to choose between all or nothing. I'd like to know what overrides what and how can I adjust settings to allow a realistic number of affairs (let's say one in 4 or 5 couples), based on Sims' traits. Thank you in advance :-)

SP checks the Woohooer settings if I remember correctly if you still want to make Affairs possible you would I believe need to set woohooer to Any Romantic

Oh :-( So I guess there's no way to disable everybody flirting with everybody unless if all affairs are forbidden then... Well, all my Sims are going to be faithful forever then.

If you set Woohooer to Any Romantic the only sims they can flirt with would be Romantic Interests, Partner/Spouse so you should be able to have possible affairs with that setting

Any Romantic is a step above the Default setting it makes Affairs possible but it limits them so that not everyone is doing it

I've just been checking the SP documentation to refresh my memory and, if I'm reading it correctly, it says that if you have the link between woohooer and SP enabled then by default the chance of affairs is influenced by trait?

Flirt: Affair Adultery Chance
Defines a percent base chance of this sim performing a flirt scenario with another sim not their partner
This value is adjusted by trait-scoring.
Note: This only affects affairs generated by this mod. Autonomous flirt interactions performed by the sims themselves are unaffected.
If you have Phase Ten of Woohooer installed, that mod will read this option and stop any romantic interactions, autonomous and user-directed, between sims partnered with a different sim
Default: 10
Hidden By: "Romance: Allow" = False
Module: Relationship StoryProgression

Flirt: Affair Liaison Chance
Defines a percent base chance of this sim performing a flirt scenario with a partnered sim
This value is adjusted by trait-scoring.
Note: This only affects affairs generated by this mod. Autonomous flirt interactions performed by the sims themselves are unaffected.

Something I do, which is probably completely unnecessary, is to make castes. I'm not 100% sure that I've got the settings correct (I'd love for someone to confirm or correct them), but they seem to work in my game.

- Faithful caste is for any sims with the Good, Hopeless Romantic or Family Orientated traits, in this one I set the Flirt: Affair Adultery Chance and Flirt: Affair Liaison Chance to 0. I give this caste a priority of 10.
- Flirty caste is for any sims with the Flirty, Daredevil or Commitment Issues traits. In this caste I set the Flirt: Affair Adultery Chance and Flirt: Affair Liaison Chance to be higher, maybe 20 or 30. I give this caste the priority of 5.

Assuming I've got my settings right, I believe that if a sim has both the flirty and family orientated trait, they would end up in the Faithful caste and wouldn't have affairs because the Faithful caste has a higher priority. Any sims in town, without any of those traits are left with the default 10% affair chance.

Actually the link between SP and Woohooer doesn't need to be enabled I never have it enabled and my settings are always honored between the 2

Interesting Kimlupai.
But if I change settings the same way, is there also a way I can prevent sims from constantly flirting autonomously with dozens of other sims ? Because if I can both use your settings and set autonomous "flirt" to a more reasonable frequency (more concretely, I'd like to assign autonomous friendly interactions higher priority than flirty interactions in general, except for flirty sims), this is what I'd really like to do. Is there a way to do this, with Retuner maybe ?

"Assuming I've got my settings right, I believe that if a sim has both the flirty and family orientated trait, they would end up in the Faithful caste" Actually no they wouldn't you would need to use Trait Deny otherwise you'll end up with a conflicted sim bouncing between 2 castes

@namaradus - Are you sure about this? The way I read it, they would be members of both castes but the one with the higher explicitly set priority should win out over the other one when it comes to particular settings that both castes try to impose. Isn't that what Caste Options > Caste:Priority is for?
