Autonomous woohoo for non-actives but not for active household

Post by jelf22 » May 4th, 2017, 7:40 am

Sorry if this is a dumb question. But what settings should I set so that only non-active sims would woohoo/risky/baby autonomously, while sims in the active household would not autonomously do any of these? Thanks!

That doesn't sound like a dumb question to me, but I'm afraid it doesn't have a simple answer. Unlike StoryProgression, Woohooer and its scoring mechanisms affect all sims in town. If you have things set up the way you want them for the inactives but your actives are acting too frisky on you, there are some things you can do to influence their behavior but not exactly shut down what they seem to want.

-- Make sure they have plenty of other fun things to do on their home lots. Sometimes sims get fixated on woohooing because they need to relieve fun and having nothing else but maybe a television on the lot and some books to read (or re-read) just aren't doing it for them anymore.
-- Restrict their access to woohoo objects (beds, showers, etc.) with door locking during times when this behavior is not wanted.
-- Turn down Free Will or turn it off and only allow your sims to do what you direct them to.
And...
-- Consider turning down the base chances for Woohoo, Risky, and TFB overall. That will affect the entire town but if your actives are too interested in doing this all of the time it's possible that they are really too high for the inactives as well.
-- Consider using the Scoring module and trait-based scoring if you aren't already, with the same goal as the above.

Others may stop by with different suggestions.

Thanks a lot! I'll have a try with this.
I just noticed another thing, my sims tried to woohoo in an elevator but can't seem to be able to fulfill the elevator woohoo wish, and sometimes when they woohoo they just make out but there's no actual woohoo action afterwards. Is this normal? I'm using dreamer and the wish was locked in.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with elevator woohoo, but it sounds to me like the woohoo isn't actually completing. Therefore, no credit for the wish. This can happen with other objects at any time (the sims change their mind before getting to the woohoo part or something else interrupts the sequence). Not sure why elevators would be any more susceptible to interruption than beds other than trait-related blocks where some sims just don't want to act out in public places, and maybe there is a better answer out there, but keep trying?

Sorry to ask another question. Regarding "Remove Romance On Kiss", if I enabled it, is there any way for sims to become romantic interest but not becoming boyfriend/girlfriend?

Are we talking about actives or inactives? I have never heard of sims becoming more than Romantic Interests (steadies, fiances, etc.) from just kissing. SP might push their relationships forward if they are compatible enough though, but I don't believe Woohooer has the means to do that.

I've played with Remove Romance on Kiss for ages now and prefer it that way. It never seemed realistic to me that a single kiss should change sims' relationship status so dramatically. :)

Sorry for the confusion I'm just asking the "Remove Romance On Kiss" option in general. Let's say I'm trying to build relationship between one active and one inactive, if I enabled this option, is there any way to make them "Romantic Interest" but not boyfriend/girlfriend? Because in the vanilla game they always become romantic interest after kiss, so if kissing doesn't make them romantic interests anymore (after enabling this option), what are other ways to make turn them into romantic interests?

The way to become an RI with an inactive sim is to continue using various flirt actions until the short term level of interaction is "Sim A thinks Sim B is extremely irresistible" (although for some couples this will also work just short of that on "very alluring"). Somewhere around there, if the two sims are compatible enough, their regular friendly score for each other is high enough (around +40 should do it by default I think), attracted enough to each other, and one isn't already partnered with traits tending towards being faithful, one of the interactions that becomes unlocked is "Express Romantic Interest In" (or something like that). If the other sim reacts positively to that one, then they become RIs.

In a vanilla game, kissing shortcuts through that and can make them RIs without the player using that interaction and that's what many of us don't like. Hence the option to stop that from happening on its own.

To become Steady BFs/GFs when they are already RIs, it's the same thing with the chains of flirty actions to unlock the interaction (Ask to Be Steadies) except kissing alone doesn't shortcut through that far. And the other sim cannot already have a partner since the game doesn't support multiple partners within the same world. And then it's the same to become fiances (Propose Marriage).
