Hi there. Not entirely sure where your posts were going, looks like they were attached to a non-existent wiki page. I've copied the first one over here. We have your uploaded script log, thanks.

Its the same sim everytime. That wouldn't be that big of a deal, but my adult sims are on vacation and every time I try to reset her under MasterController/Advanced/Reset Sim the adults on vacation disappear. Sometimes they come back, but then their inventories are completely empty. I'm tempted just to keep her alive by raising her moods until the adults come home from vacation as this is a legacy.

Basically the adult vacation thing from Generations is borked. Always has been, there has always been a large chance that the adults never return home and/or if they do, their sims are damaged and the entire scenario is known to ruin players' games. It's basically not supportable, with or without mods an no mod developer has ever been able to fix this. The best advice we can give is to always reject the offer when it comes up.

From where you are now, do you have a "safe" save you can revert gameplay to, from before the vacation offer even happened?

Sorry! I don't know what was happening there either... I tried to delete them haha!

That sucks to hear about the vacation thing. I've never had any problems with them, until now! And I do have a save safe from before the vacation! So it's not all bad I guess. Anyway thank you so much for taking the time to respond!

Hey so it all worked out! The parents just came home naturally... just like that... I swear the whole episode was manufactured to give me a heart attack! I wanted to ask you if you had any more advice for things to just flat out avoid. I know my legacy probably won't make it far, but is there anything I can do/ avoid to prolong it?

Well, that sounds most fortunate so it's great to hear.

If one is going to play the adults vacation scenario, a good practice would be to expect it fail and break the game, so have a safe to revert to Save As or three standing by to re-play things if and when this happens. From what I understand though, the benefits of the entire thing aren't really all that great. If I want my teen sims to have a party, they can throw a regular House or Slumber Party. The adults can go out to dinner and a movie, then silently creep up the stairs to their bedroom if the party is still taking place when they get home. :)

Another good scenario to avoid, although it doesn't always rise to quite the same level, is the entire Boarding School thing. What exactly are we supposed to do if the children or teens never make it back home again?

I would also flat out avoid deleting sims of any kind using (only) testingcheatsenabled shift-clicks or using the Move Objects On cheat on sims unless one is merely setting up a pose and has no intention of saving that game session to go forward. But I think most players here know about those already.

As for the art (as it's not so much a science beyond the basic things to avoid) of getting and keeping a long-running game healthy and playable, we do have this page if you are not already familiar with it.
