Issue with Teen/Incest Woohoo

Post by JoieWilder » May 20th, 2015, 7:49 pm

I started a family in Bridgeport. The idea was for it to be a messed up family, so I used the woohooer to make a set of twins in love with each other and have offspring. Everything was fine in Bridgeport, but then I decided to move the family to a custom world, Brooklyn Heights. Now the teens cannot click on each other, but they can click on other people. I tried to find any information about the woohooer not working with custom worlds, but couldn't find any. And I'm sorry if my ScriptError uploaded twice; I didn't get confirmation when I first tried.

Teens cannot click on each other...just a hunch before moving onto other things, but I see you have the EA store's tea set. Might either of them have any jam jars in their inventories?

Nope :( I haven't even used the tea set or the canning station with this family.

Okay sorry, and maybe I misunderstood the problem.

The error log is about one of them trying to do homework (I assume with the other) autonomously, but somehow it involves the Public Service Office (City Hall combo). So when controlling one teen, you have no ability to click on the other at all or is it only Romantic interactions that are missing/broken?

And a few more questions based on your intro:
-- Have you verified that this new world that you moved them to without Traveler (so the built-in EA way?) has the same Woohooer and SP settings as the world you left behind? Not sure if new worlds inherit those automatically when moving the EA way, so they may well be in a relationship that the mods currently do not allow.
-- Have you tried to break the link between Woohooer and SP to see if that shakes things loose?
On City Hall or an in-game computer, NRaas > Woohooer > General > Link to SP > (set to False)
-- Have you tried using MC to reset the new world entirely?
On City Hall/computer, NRaas > MC > Town > Reset Everything

As you do not have <a class="wiki_link" href="/Overwatch">Overwatch</a> or <a class="wiki_link" href="/ErrorTrap">ErrorTrap</a> in place, it's difficult to say what else might be wrong unless someone else comes along and spots it. Those mods are also highly recommended.

They started autonomously to do homework while they were moving in. They cannot click the the other whatsoever. Whenever I have the boy click his sister or vice versa it's like nothing is there; I don't even get the NRaas menu.

I checked all the settings that I could possibly think of, both in story progression and in the woohooer. I tried changing them and then resetting them, but it didn't make any difference.
As soon as I'm able, I'll try to break the link and see if that helps.
I think that I reset everything, but will try again.

I had Overwatch, but as soon as I installed it, my game started to have too much lag to play, and I don't want to install ErrorTrap for the same reason.

As you wish. But Overwatch and ErrorTrap are tools that fix and prevent corruption that builds in players' games over time, and work to prevent lag. They do not cause it, unless the worlds in question are already hopelessly corrupt (not likely with a brand new world, but of course anything is possible especially with custom worlds).

But let us know if any of the above helps.

I opened the game and broke the link to SP, but it didn't change anything. I did do a total reset from City Hall and that also did nothing. I even deleted the homework, in case the bug was somehow tied to it, but it didn't do anything. They can interact with their mother and their children, but it's still like the other doesn't exist if I click them while the other is active.

Okay. It's possible that these two teens became corrupted during the move process. But couple more things to check before we can make that conclusion.

The next thing to try is to temporarily pull all CC and non-NRaas mods out, clear caches, and run a test copy of your saved game that way. Any better?

If not, the last thing to try would be the Clean Folder test. Pull your entire TS3 folder out of Documents to your Desktop for safekeeping. Launch the game to let it generate a new game folder, but then back out (quit). Re-create your Framework (Mods/Packages, Resource.cfg) and put in your NRaas mods only. Reinstall the custom world. Finally, put a copy of the one saved game back in place under Saves and see if it running it that way fixes the teens.

Install Selector and try to click on the teen. Upload any errors that result.

By the way the error has nothing to do with homework. Something is breaking the UI for SP when displaying caste options which is extremely odd. I'm not sure it's related to this though.

@igazor - The interaction listed isn't always the thing causing the error. It's the interaction that was running when the error occurred. Sometimes, especially when clicks are involved, the log will list the active Sim even if they didn't cause the error (which is the case here as they were interacting with city hall to change caste options).

You'll want to look at the stack trace very closely.

<!-- ws:start:WikiTextCodeRule:0:
<pre class="text">#0: 0x0000d ldfld.i4 in Sims3.UI.Sims3.UI.UIManager:AddChild (Sims3.UI.WindowBase,Sims3.UI.WindowBase) ([2BDB5C78] [00000000] )</pre>
-->
<style type="text/css"><!--
/**
* GeSHi (C) 2004 - 2007 Nigel McNie, 2007 - 2008 Benny Baumann
* (http://qbnz.com/highlighter/ and http://geshi.org/)
*/
.text {font-family:monospace;}
.text .imp {font-weight: bold; color: red;}
.text span.xtra { display:block; }

-->
</style><pre class="text">#0: 0x0000d ldfld.i4 in Sims3.UI.Sims3.UI.UIManager:AddChild (Sims3.UI.WindowBase,Sims3.UI.WindowBase) ([2BDB5C78] [00000000] )</pre>

#0 will always tell you which function actually busted. This is usually useful for figuring out why the error occurred but sometimes not for where the code originated. For that the bottom is usually the tell. (not always #17, depends on how many frames in the stack)

<!-- ws:start:WikiTextCodeRule:1:
<pre class="text">#17: 0x00011 pop in NRaas.StoryProgressionSpace.Settings.NRaas.StoryProgressionSpace.Settings.ChangeCasteOptions:Run (NRaas.CommonSpace.Options.GameHitParameters`1) (46B878A0 [724002336/0x2b276620] )</pre>
-->
<style type="text/css"><!--
/**
* GeSHi (C) 2004 - 2007 Nigel McNie, 2007 - 2008 Benny Baumann
* (http://qbnz.com/highlighter/ and http://geshi.org/)
*/
.text {font-family:monospace;}
.text .imp {font-weight: bold; color: red;}
.text span.xtra { display:block; }

-->
</style><pre class="text">#17: 0x00011 pop in NRaas.StoryProgressionSpace.Settings.NRaas.StoryProgressionSpace.Settings.ChangeCasteOptions:Run (NRaas.CommonSpace.Options.GameHitParameters`1) (46B878A0 [724002336/0x2b276620] )</pre>

And there we see where it originated. :)
