As some of you may have noticed with the error pages, we continue to suffer from intermittent DDOS attacks. While Cloudflare is fielding a lot of these and I have been able to mitigate what is getting through them in under 30 minutes, they are happening sometimes several times a day and cut into my time to fix issues here. I am continuing to work with my upstream providers to get a better handle on these. In addition our cache system is occasionally collapsing due to heavy traffic. I will be taking the site offline within the next week to have more RAM installed to allow for more things to be cached in RAM rather than hammering the disk along with other changes.

Work continues on getting things back to operating status when I am not dealing with the above. Priority continues to be our documentation pages which will be back very soon after several technical setbacks. Please continue to bear with me.

Right, after a very laggy morning I just had more RAM installed and grabbed a failing disk out the RAID array. Looks like you guys put it in it's grave with the amount of data that is cached here constantly thrashing the disk. We're going to hope things work better now but I will stay on top of it. Note I will be doing more maintenance to change out code and push more things in and out of the cache so your continued patience is welcome.

Right, it looks like after a few months break and beefed up DDOS protection, the attacks have started again. We are currently being hammered by over 500 different servers in China. I am happy to report most of the attacks are having very little impact on our new beefier server but I'd like to note users in China may experience problems accessing our site as I block access to our network from area's in China to mitigate the attack.

And just when you think they have stopped, here we go again. I am working hard to mitigate an attack. You may notice challenge pages from Cloudflare as I work with them to curb the influx of nearly 800 connections per second.

Just a note that this has started up again and I am working to mitigate the issue. It should be improving but may be touch and go until I mass ban all the Chinese IP's flooding us. Please note I may get some innocents in the cross fire with the range banning I am doing. If I do, please shoot me an email and I'll fix.

Just a note that I was aware of the downtime earlier and this time it wasn't because of DDOS thankfully. The hardware of the server is aging (can you believe we've been over here abusing it for 6 years) and is starting to fail. Several things were tested and replaced and hopefully it is resolved but I'll keep an eye on it.
