What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I've recently installed Woohooer using just the main package, Scoring and Kama Simtra. I've got version 1.69.43.024017 of the game and I'm using the latest copy of Woohooer, but when I enter the game I cannot find any interface to configure the mod and the amended functions don't seem to work. Am I making some vast assumptions that are incorrect and is the town hall the place to configure some basic relationship settings?

Yes, City Hall is where the NRaas > Woohooer menu of options should be showing up. You have no such menu at all?

Since adding the mod and its two add-on modules, have you cleared (deleted) your scriptCache.package file from your TS3 user game folder in Documents? Do any mods or package based content work for you correctly at present?

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I did get the nude bathing and the pixelation removal mods working but removed it in case it was either of those that clashed with Woohooer. I have now deleted the scriptCache.package and re-entered the game and still getting no menu option on the Town Hall, from a new game.

Okay, so your mods Framework is functioning correctly then, at least for other mods.Let's set the two add-on modules aside (remove them) for the moment if you could. In your Mods\Packages folder, you are absolutely certain that you have a file called specifically "NRaas_Woohooer.package" (or it might show up as just "NRaas_Woohooer" if you have the display of file extensions disabled) and it is unzipped so it is not showing up as "NRaas_Woohooer_V129.zip" or something like that?

I can't speak to the effects of pixelation removal and nude bathing mods from other sources. Some of them available out there are outdated or conflict with NRaas mods; we recommend NRaas Decensor. Does a newly started test game with only NRaas mods in place, no other package files, and the script cache cleared again, cause the mod to show up?

If not and we are certain that things are set up correctly and the mod file unzipped, perhaps download a fresh copy of the mod and try that. You may have somehow gotten a damaged download.

Right, I decided to go back to basics.

Downloaded the woohooer package again. Deleted all packages and installed the new woohooer into the game\mods\packages folder.
Deleted the cache package.
Restarted the game and started a new game. Click on the city hall icon on the expanded map and can tour city hall, join a political career, get a postcard and take charisma classes. From what you say, there should be more, am I right?
Edited to add, there's no debug mode or something is there, that I should be finding the woohooer menu through?

There should be an NRaas menu on City Hall alongside of the usual City Hall specific actions. It should also appear on in-game computers and laptops. The Woohooer menu would then appear under NRaas as would other NRaas mods that have City Hall menus alongside of it, if you had any.

Just to confirm though as you did not specifically mention this, you are unzipping the download and placing the file inside, not the zip file, into Mods\Packages?

Yes the unzipped .package file.

Well, I'm confused, I have to admit. I may go for a complete reinstall but that's a last ditch hope really, as the game works perfectly in all other respects.

The next step is not a complete reinstall. That actually won't usually help as it's not the Program Files that could be getting in the way here, assuming your Mods folder is in the standard place within Documents (username\Electronic Arts\TS3).

Please right-click on, do Properties of the file called DeviceConfig.log in your user game folder and confirm that its modification date/time matches the last time you started up the game. If you aren't sure, startup the game and the modification date/time should update instantly. If the date/time is stale, that means this isn't your live game folder and another one exists somewhere on your system that the game is reading from at launch.

If that's not it, the next thing to try is called the Clean Folder Test (also called a Factory Reset, same thing) and is still far less drastic than a reinstall.. Pull your current TS3 user game folder out of Documents or rename it so that a new no-content folder will spawn on the next startup of the game. Back out, set up your mods Framework again with the nested folders and Resource.cfg, and test the mod on that one. Any added content you had, installed worlds, and saved games, etc. will not be there, but will still be safe in the pulled out or renamed game folder but, for the moment, this is just a test. The pulled out folder can be put back if this test doesn't get us anywhere.

Ok thanks you've sorted it. The problem I had was that the two trial mods I installed had a self installer that put them in the game folder, not the user\game folder, and they worked. So I thought that the .package file for the game must go in the game folder as well, until i was looking to check I hadn't messed up the Framework or resource.cfg files and while reading up further, realised my mistake.
I'm sorry to have been such a drag on your time and I very much appreciate the help and kindness you've shown to this noob :).

That wasn't exactly what I was expecting to hear. When TS3 was first released in 2009, mods were installed a very different way and in the Program Files with some other changes that needed to be made. That all changed with Patch 1.12 somewhere in 2010 (this was all before my time). You must have had some very outdated mods there. Anyway, glad you got it all sorted out. :)
