Bartenders wander off

Why do my bartenders wander off to enjoy the rest of the club instead of stay at their bar?
I don't mind if they go dance, or mingle, or even woohoo in the hot tub, but when my sim needs to get drunk for an opportunity, I expect there to be a bartender there serving drinks. 

Yes I have Overwatch, ErrorTrap, and Register installed, etc.    I tried dismissing the bartender using Register, and the game re-hired the same person and they went right back to the hot tub again.  

Anything else I can try?

Yes, but you also need DebugEnabler.

Use Register to unassign the Role Sim from the bar. Do a DebugEnabler Object Reset on it, then use Register again to reassign the Role Sim. Any better?

In addition to what igazor, has said use MC to check and see if they have the Bartending skill if they lack level 10 that could also make them wander around.

Oh yes, that's right. We apparently weren't meant to be using LN bars in WA worlds, for example. In my game if an assigned mixologist there is below Level 10 or doesn't have the skill at all, they can't serve so much as a glass of ice water successfully and they will keep wandering away from their station since there is nothing they are really able to do behind the bar. But MC Cheats can fix that right up, once it's noticed.

I'm glad I read this. I had a wandering bartender in a future world that is a homeworld variation of EA world at the future lounge. I put a basement in and she goes down to the basement to play pool or basketball. When I get back to that save I will make sure to check her skill level and fix it. :)</p>

Woo, now that the board is back up, I can follow up here.

Yes I have Debug Enabler, and I did try resetting the bar, but not while the bartender was dismissed.   This is a custom world, Los Aniegos, by the way.   I also had similar trouble with the consignment register and elixer register clerks, but resetting them worked, and I can walk up to them and "buy" easily.   Unlike the mixologists.   Yes this bartender has 10 in the mixology skill, I checked that.   She is also a party animal, which might affect her work habits, too. 

I'll try resetting the bar after dismissing her tonight.   If not I may have to delete the bar and buy it again.

If everything else we've mentioned, including replacing the bar object, doesn't work, then perhaps try replacing her Party Animal trait with Workaholic. Not sure I've ever seen reports of that making much of a difference with mixologists in particular, but it's worth a try if all else fails.

It could also be something about the lot I suppose if it's only happening and doesn't seem to be correctable in the usual ways on just this one lot.

Where's the edit post button?

Its actually Angel City, not Los Aniegos, I'm using.   I get those two mixed up.   Angel City is the smaller version that gives me less Error 12's.  

Edit:  Ok, I can edit this post, but not my posts from earlier.  Is there a time-limit on editing?

Actually, that's a great question. I believe there is a time limit on editing but I'm not seeing it because of higher forum related user rights so am not sure how long that is or why we have it. Perhaps Chain_Reaction could explain for us, if he could be so kind.  :)
