I'm confused as to where my mod folder is, I tried searching for it and everything but it doesn't show up. My mods, MasterController and StoryProgression still work as if there was a mods folder but it won't show up in my file explorer. Any help or idea as to where it is would be appcriated. I am using the steam version of the game and I created the folder in steamapps>common>Sims 3

Hi there. Not sure what you have done there or whose instructions you were following, but the Mods folder does not belong in Program Files on any kind of installation. This used to be the case many years ago, but EA changed all of that when Ambitions and Patch 1.12 came out sometime in 2010. On a Steam install, you would be on Patch 1.67 and would have all of those patched changes automatically.

The Mods folder and its contents belong in the TS3 user game folder in Documents. This tutorial shows how to set it up and exactly what things should look like when they are set, plus or minus some minor differences around the edges for different operating systems (different versions of Windows). The page offers a downloadable Framework that is all ready to unzip and place into the TS user game folder, with the required Resource.cfg file and two sample mods already in place to test the setup. It works exactly the same on Steam installs as it does on others.

The trick here though is that you going to have undo the current setup you have in Program Files first, the one you cannot find if that is really where it all is, as you cannot have two live Mods folders. This page might help, except of course your program files would be in Steamapps and not under Origin or EA Games.

But first, are you certain that your Mods folder is not already in Documents where it should be?

OK I see the problem, I was looking in the program files rather then My documents. My mistake, thank you!!!
