My Ambitions stylist and home designers are not working.

It seemed to happen after I installed register (last thing I installed). I was glad to get this mod because no clerk would otherwise show up at the consignment store, but afterwards it seems, I was no longer getting stylist or home design jobs. I'd go to the salon and either no one would show up or if they did, no one would ask for a makeover. I get the option to offer a client one if I click on the pedestal, but get no credit for it in my job experience. My other designer sim would get no calls for jobs at all. Don't know if it's a combination of mods interfering with each other or something is just set wrong, or it's the register mod. Any ideas? I have MC, Woohooer, Careers, decensor, register, upgrade times, overwatch, addanylotsize, and passion and romance (last two from MTS

Hi there. What's "upgrade times"? If it's what I think it is, probably not relevant though.

The way to test this is to remove Register, clear the scriptCache file, and see if the job opportunities return. Have to admit I haven't played either of those careers in a while, but I've had Register for years and still have one sim in each profession but they happen to be tucked away in currently inactive worlds -- never noticed any issues with them not getting customers, especially the architect/designer.

Well, I removed Register and scriptcache (I usually delete the cache files on a regular basis) and sure enough I now get jobs. Unfortunately, now I have no one whatsoever manning the cash register anymore at the consignment shop EVER. Must I choose between one or the other? I am playing an installed world and not Twinbrooke. Upgrade times BTW, is to make your sims upgrades on appliances, plumbing and such not take so long to do.

I think this is the first time I have seen such a report. We shouldn't have to choose between one or the other, though I did expect that your Role Sim management would fall apart again without Register (this was just meant to be a test). Which version of Register are you using?

Maybe others here and our developer will share their suggestions or have some follow-up questions.

Oh, wait. I have a follow-up question already. Your architecht/designer gets calls for jobs? I seem to recall that the jobs just show up in Map View during business (daytime) hours when that sim is active, I don't remember him getting phone calls specifically. Like I said, haven't played him in a while but I may never have noticed phone calls weren't happening if that's what you meant as I wouldn't have known they were even supposed to.

Or are you saying no new jobs show up in Map View either with that sim active and Register present?

Yes, I just got a call saying that some sim wanted me to update his "man cave" Even though you got a message to "perform renovation" or wait until later, you weren't sent there though. You had to go to the map and click on his designated house. However, when I first started playing this sim, if you were on the map screen there were other jobs to be had that you received no actual call for. This was all before I installed Register. Unfortunately, my inventors and sculptors can no longer sell their items with no clerk at the store--at least so far. I still don't know if Register is doing this. Could it be I currently have no empty houses for NPC's? I have the homeless set to run out of town too. I am using the Register base mod. I also tested and Sims come to the salon for makeovers again, when previously the salon was a ghost town.

Very interesting. Register doesn't have any code in it that touches the ambitions jobs so if it is affecting them it must be indirectly and I'm not sure how that would be.

Wonder why Register is acting this way for you. I use it along with all the other mods here and was just playing with a stylist with no problems getting jobs.

The homeless sims are needed to man the Role Positions while it's not supposed to happen it is possible that having the homeless run out of town is affecting the Consignment Shop from having a sim man the register
Also Passion and Romance doesn't always play well with Woohooer actually I had nothing but problems with the two installed somethings just wouldn't function right among other oddities that I had seen

It may not even be register. I just thought it was a coincidence since it was the last thing I installed. Might be combination of things. I need Passion and Romance Mod. Never got Woohooer to work fast enough without a nudge from Passion and Romance. They actual work better for me together. I am going to place a couple of empty houses on the lot and see if that helps before I reinstall register and try to assign roles. Maybe a clerk will move in.
