CareerDataAcademics - AcademicDegrees.xml Tuning

So I finally get to this through my big search and learning about university degrees and graduation and because igazor told me that for the homeworld uni this mod is set to 7 days (1 term) and the sims need, like EA standard,
- 8 Credit Hour to complete a degree, which means
- 48 Credits are required.
This issue seems well known and the thing is: A degree with this high setting cannot be completed even within 2 terms, so all of my sims have no completed degrees ;-(

Therefor I really want to tune the AcademicDegrees.xml to set this lower to give my sims the chance to complete degree, get a diploma and graduate successfully.
Does it conflict with the CareerDataAcademics Mod when I create this tuning mod from same type? I don't want to change it in the nraas mod itself and have to redo this after every mod updates.

Shouldn't be a problem. But 48 credits is totally doable in 2 terms. If you take the Aptitude Test you can earn 18 free credits you can retake the Aptitude Test as many times as you like https://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/univ ... detest.php

I believe that the OP is trying to manage her town's population as it passes through her Homeworld Uni, not her actively being played sims. Is there a way to entice inactives to take the Aptitude Test without manually playing all of them in turn as they arrive or become older teens and YAs?

Right Igazor, for the inactives this was not possible.
- at least I tuned that the Aptitude Test  to all autonomous and optimized some options in Sims3.Gameplay.Academics
- and place some University Welcome Kits on a rabbithole so the inactives might use it now

I for now tuned the nraas AcademicDegrees.xml means I added for all others than education the options for skills, traits also added some and changed the RequiredCreditHours for all
I'm curious about how my inactive students will do now, hopefully all will finish successfully ;-)

Sorry sittingbear, but I really want to hear that from Chain_Reaction until I place my own. But the info about that you can do (with your active sim) the Aptitude Test more than one time is cool.

Update: I think I will keep the tuning in the careeracademic mod, because I have to alter the new Education study too and therefor do not want to add a second extra tuning.

Info: I exported from the EA gameplaydata file the xml file UniversityWelcomeKit-TakeApitudeTest and tuned this according to the changes I made to the AcademicDegrees parts. This file is responsible for the Apitude-Test result and given credit point ;-)

My wishes for MC (and Career Academic Module): as there is no possibility to filter on sims who have "unfinished" degrees I would love to have more options available like:
- under career for all players an option to change the RequiredCreditHours from 8 to whatever they want
- under MC - Career - "Make Apitude-Test" (there is no way to assign this via debugenabler nor anything else to a group of sims)
- under MC Filters: Academic Graduation - "has unfinished degree" for all degree subjects
- under MC Filters: include "unfinished degree" for option PriorCareer

Unfortunately, Sims with an unfinished degree are not listed under "PriorCareer".

Chain_Reaction If you have time ;-) of course  this would be an enormous improve for all players who play home universities and also care about their inactive students. THX in advance <3

Yeah I thought you were talking about your active sims. As for the Take Apitude Test that interaction has no fun value even if it's set to autonomous chances are inactives won't pick it.

Gosh, thanks for the hint :-*
Now exported the EA ITUN file TakeAptitudeTest_UniversityWelcomeKit file and added <Output> fun, advertised thing
+ AskJoinInteraction joinable="True"
and changed it to only for teens, because in my world only YA go to uni (Seniors are meant to be professors and Adults well - just work on careers and raise their families).

Hope this will indeed make all my inactives Teens do the test so they get a lot of extra credit points.

AskJoinInteraction should stay at False as it lacks a proper animation

Well I just did ask to join takup the apitude test - a group of 5 Teenagers (who I invited via MC) and there is no animation problem and all have done the test Yippy

This interaction only appears when your active Sim is doing the test, then you can click on any other Sim and ask to join.
This way I have a realy good workaround, I don't have to switch to each, because the autonomy and fun thing is not very reliable.

You need to place the welcome kits via buydebug f.i. on a rhabbithole with space around it, because the sims who join use the same kit.
