Game freezes upon 'Survey Beach'?

Hello!

So, I've been running into this issue for a while. Whenever a Lifeguard walks onto the beach and is about to perform 'Survey Beach' as per the job marker, the game would freeze. Trees and water keep moving, sound effects keep playing, but the Sim himself doesn't move and appears frozen, can't click anything, etc...

I've tried removing CC, thinking it might be caused by the Lifeguard for Pools mod from MTS, but testing the game without any CC results in the same issue. Pool lots work fine with the mod intact, the sim will survey the pool just fine. However, it seems as though beach lots have an issue here.

I end up having to force quitting the game using Task Manager.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I also noticed that if I cancel the initial automatic beach survey action and using the lifeguard chair instead to survey beach, the game works properly without freezing, but I don't expect to be able to remember doing that every time.

So you tested without any mods at all? Including these? Is this a custom world?

Yes, I removed that mod and this is a custom world I created from scratch in CAW. Testing without CC didn't help. I ended up replacing the lot with a copy and hoped for the best. It took several tries of replacing it and making sure I had the right lot assignment and it finally worked. Still can't figure out what caused it.

Hi, it's been a while since I posted this topic, but I'm still running into the same problem I mentioned in the first post. Which is why I'm back with some questions:

1) Are there any (general) rules for CAW, more specifically for when creating shorelines, and/or placing beach lots in the game itself (through World Editor)?

2) If the game freezes as I described in the first post; where the clock freezes, sim freezes, but ocean and tree effects still moving and sound effects still playing, does this mean the game crashed? What would cause a typical freeze like that? A certain process?

Thanks!

P.S. Happy Holidays!:)

Not that I'm aware of. It looks like the code is looking for a routable area that is of terrain type, outside and is facing the ocean. Do you have that? Is the Sim already on the beach when you run the interaction? Do you they do anything before it locks up?

It means the simulator gave up. Likely scripting looping to death. Unless it stops, the game will never recover. Which it rarely does.

Well, I first get a notification about a job to perform, so I press the button in the notification itself and allow them to get to the beach. They start walking onto the lot, reach about the middle of it and they freeze while ocean and trees are still animated, like I described earlier. I can't switch to any other Sim or do anything really.

Oh dear! Yeah, I end up having to bring up task manager to force close the game and restart it later.

One thing I do have on the beach lots are boat mooring posts. I'm not sure if those are placed properly and if their mere existence might have something to do with it, as these beach lots are ones I simply built myself.
