How do we stop sims from watching the imaginary TV when they make themselves a drink at the bar? It's so stupid unless there's a TV in the room which half the time there is not. They never even actually watch or have it on for more than a second or worse!...they just turn it off and on over and over! I couldn't find the interaction through the bar in Retuner or through the Sim.

Sometimes tv's disguise themselves and are not obvious. I couldn't figure out why my sim kept watching tv at the Salon, then I discovered the mirror was actually a tv. Check around and see if anything is acting as a tv.

Thanks for responding littlelambsy, but that's not exactly to what I'm referring. I did look to see if there was one stashed in the bar or something though. They do this in their own homes too. I never even put the TV's in the same rooms with the bar. Most of the time if I give them a bar in their home I put it in the kitchen or dining room. In my current game the only TV is downstairs in the living room and the bar is upstairs on a balcony.

I'm assuming by the silence in this thread that it can't be done, so I will just deal with it or remove the bar. No biggie. To be honest I rarely use them because I get tired of sims getting a drink instead of making food when they are hungry, or they just start making trays of drinks and setting them all over the house. But I just wondered if one could use Retuner or some other mod pack to stop the bar-TV watching action.

I would probably take a different approach here and at least temporarily try to stop sims from being able to make themselves individual drinks at the bar autonomously by way of Retuner. Or, is it the case that being served a drink or helping themselves to one that's already prepared for them and on a tray also triggers the unwanted animation loops?

Are you using a wall tv? And if your using barstools for them to sit at the bar try removing those. I've usually seen this type of behavior when there is a wall tv and/or barstools.

Sittingbear and Igazor - It seems to occur most when they autonomously go to make themselves an individual drink. I don't seem to notice it as often when they grab one from a tray or if they are sitting at the bar, but I rarely use the bar-stools when placing the small bar in a house. There are rare exceptions if a mansion has a party room, I may use the larger bar and place a couple of stools then.

As for wall TV's; sometimes they have them, other times they do not. But yes, I have heard and seen them come on regardless of how far away. But I don't always notice if the smaller TV's in the house have come on, I don't hear them if they do.

In another example, I made a community gym from scratch. There are no TV's anywhere. But I placed the small juice bar for Sims to get a drink after working out. Sure enough, they still whip the remote out and click and then they laugh a few times at the invisible TV. The only stereo is in the aerobics room and I've never seen it come on when they click, I also never hear a TV.

This sounds like really odd behavior I've never seen. Are we sure a mod isn't causing it?

Not really sure, no. The only non-NRaas mods that I have though are as follows:

Buzz Clean house for everyone and MoarInteractions
Cmar nude skins
More Entry points
Icarusallsorts Scolding and Serv Meals
Shimrods Awareness Disabled Ver2

I can try to load the game without these sometime and see if things change,but this has gone on for some time now. For a long time I just figured it was because there was a TV on the lot and silly as it seemed, they'd turn it on to watch from another room. lol
But then when it was happening with the new Gym and no TV on the lot, I decided to ask.

If it's a mod causing this it must be a widely used one cause I see it all the time and just chucked it to usual game weirdness. Just yesterday my sims were at the local dive and after ordering a drink from the bar they managed to watch the wall tv that was a whole floor away in the basement while facing the wrong way to boot. I've seen some weird tv watching in my day but I was pretty impressed with this one.
