RAR extensions in Mods folder

A few months ago I installed clothes for teenage pregnancies (male and female) but they don't show up in the clothes selection of Edit CAS. is it because they have RAR extensions instead of "package" extensions? So when one of my teens is pregnant they are invisible from the neck down. Would someone be kind enough to tell me how to fix this so the clothes are available for my teenagers?

Thanks so much

Cheers,

Greetings, you placed RAR files in ".../Mods/Packages" directory? If yes, it's not right. RAR - it's file-archive, which containts .package file inside. Just unpack these files with special programs, example, winrar or 7 zip.

Rar files are compressed like zip files are, except that they use an alternate form of compression. A third alternative we often see are 7z files. The game cannot read these, they have to be moved out of Mods\Packages (to your desktop for example) and opened up from there. What is inside in this case will either be package files that then go into Mods\Packages or sims3packs that need to be Launcher installed.

Unlike with zip files, a third party program is required to open these kinds of compressed downloads. Many of us use 7-zip, it's free and open sourced, and will work on both rar and 7z files. WinRar is also very popular, but this one is shareware and will keep nagging you to purchase a paid version after the trial period is over, even though then it still keeps working.

(once installed, right click on a file to expand it if double-clicking still doesn't do it)
