Snow and crash

I have been using this world for quite a long time and had no problem. There were hills and city buildings in the middle and the medium size i would say.
I recently placed an new community lot (60x60) on the top of the hill where you can see the city view and planned a wedding ceremony there. It was winter and started snowing. Then I was about to start getting married interaction then the game crashed. At first, I couldn't tell why. After several trials and errors, I found out why.
It was the moment when the ground becomes white because of the snow.
Has anyone had this problem? Do you guys think it's my computer or that community lot or too many sims... or all together...?

Snow is very stressful to the game. My guess would be that you have a combination of stressful factors going there that individually are not a real problem but taken all together plus the snow and ground freezing are somehow overloading things. This is also why a few very intricate tomb lots in the WA worlds become unplayable or the game crashes when we direct sims there and it starts snowing; those worlds were not in any way designed for weather events as they pre-dated Seasons.

Yes, it was definitely snow making the ground all white....
I used that lifetime reward weather control machine thing and stopped the snow before the ground gets white. It was all good. No crash. The wedding party with lots of sim on that community lot went very smooth.
Then after the party after everyone left, I made my sim use that machine again and make it snow. Then, crashed as soon as the ground becomes white....
I dont wanna give up both.... this lot is beautiful and I love snow....:(

Does that mean if I get a better computer in the future, this problem will be solved...? Or this game itself just cannot handle this situation even with better computer?

A better computer, especially one with a strong enough graphics card, may help with such things up to a point. But I was really taking into account the 32-bit driven limitations of the game itself. Players on all kinds of powerful over the top systems have had trouble with snow in certain settings.

Yea I thought so too... even with super computer, no hope... very unfortunate...
since I dont really have high hope with the sims 5, I really hope EA to just consider reworking on the sims 3 and expand that limit... Then, our genius modders will do the rest of the job... A lot of custom worlds in this sims 3 community are just too beautiful to be unplayable.

Have there been any credible reports that Sims 5 might be coming out in the near future? The few articles I've seen were very much speculation.

I don’t think it will come out in the near future. At least 2-3 more years maybe..?

So I narrowed it down a little bit more. I placed this same community lot in the Builder’s island and made it snow and the game crashed so it’s not about the size of the world. It’s just this particular lot. Something in this lot is causing problem when it snows....
hmmmmmm....

Could you tell us what the problem was in case someone else encounters the issue?
