Is there a 'sort family inventory' option for master controller? Like the one for individual sim inventory? I've looked for it but after years of having master controller I still notice options for the first time so I don't trust myself lol

Sort Inventory should be on the MC Household/Lot menu, the one where we see Open (or Close), Family Funds, Object Info, etc. as opposed to the Sim menus.

What the benefit of sorting the sim's or family's inventory?

That's what I thought, but when I tried it it sorted the inventory of the active sim instead.

I'll have to check the next time I am in-game. But the Household/Lot command is supposed to sort the inventories of all "container" objects, so I take it that would include sims as well as the family inventory itself.

Being better able to find anything if the collection is a really crowded one. But sorting inventories is also often a really good way to unstick items and make them usable again when they get stuck in any kind of inventory.
