Hello all! So, my story is this: I downloaded woohooer and kama simtra and earned my sim a skill point. Then the next time I opened my game (wanting to register her as a professional) it was mysteriously gone. I had her woohoo five times to earn it again, but it didn't reappear. So I decided to cheat it back up but the woohoo skill didn't show up in master controller's skill section at all! I set the skill threshold to register as a professional at 0 points, but the "register as a professional" option still didn't show up on computers or city hall. I'm really bummed and hoping someone can help.

This is a known issue with the KamaSimtra skill. The solution (usually) is to clear/delete the scriptCache.pacakge file at the top level of your TS3 user game folder in Documents before starting up the game, or after quitting. Once this starts happening, you will probably have to delete that file before starting up every time to avoid losing the skill in-game.

So it's docs/ea/sims 3/scriptcashe.package? Will I run into any other complications from doing that? And will I have to cheat her skill back up and re-register her as a professional every time?

The five cache files on the top level of the Sims 3 folder are totally expendable. They must be cleared (deleted) whenever the contents of Mods\Packages change in any way. They can also get clogged up with stale information and need to be cleared at least somewhat routinely anyway. Many of us clear them before starting the game (or after quitting it) every time. There is no impact on game data from doing so, it's like clearing web browser caches.

If clearing the scriptCache in particular makes the KamaSimtra skill work the way it is supposed to, then no you will not need to cheat her skill or keep re-establishing it. Actual usable mod and skill data are stored within the game saves, not the caches, but the caches can interfere at times. They exist to help speed up repetitive hard drive read/write access, not to hold onto data permanently.

CasPartCache.package
compositorCache.package
scriptCache.package (this is the important one here because we are talking about a script mod)
simCompositorCache.package
socialCache.package (this one is optional)

The five files may show up without the .package extensions if you have Windows (or the Mac OS) set to hide them in file names, but it would be the same files regardless.

I would recommend deleting them now if you never have before and at least occasionally to preserve game performance. They aren't going to hurt anything other than in some cases scenes and sims will take a a few seconds longer than usual to render fully the first time as the caches are rebuilt. But they wouldn't (shouldn't) be having any impact on the KS skill.

I usually delete all of them after every game session myself.

I did it, but it's still missing! I'm so bummed out. I guess I'll try trashing the Kama simtra mod unit and redownloading it

If you had saved your game with the skill already missing, then the skill data in between may have been erased from that ongoing save. Could you try this again where the sim has the skill and the skill tab, you save the game, exit to the desktop (or Origin), clear the scriptCache, and reload if you hadn't already done this?
